Tourist benefits in the day when ice and snow appear

Last weekend, many localities welcomed thousands of visitors to admire the ice and snow, the occupancy rate was up to 90 – 95%.

According to information from the Department of Culture and Information of Bat Xat district (Lao Cai), in 3 days 9-11, the district welcomed more than 3,000 visitors to admire the ice and snow in Y Ty. Including 1,500 tourists staying, gathered at the homestay in the center of Y Ty commune. 

The room occupancy rate reaches 95%. In addition, guests spend at restaurants, soft drinks, some local services such as tobacco bath, foot bath and motorbike taxi. Estimated revenue in 3 days is VND 2 billion.

On two weekends, Sa Pa (Lao Cai) welcomes about 15,000 visitors, Monday, January 11, welcomes more than 5,000 visitors. In which, the occupancy rate of accommodation rooms reaches 50-60%. Visitors spend on food services, cable cars to Fansipan.

Ms. Hoang Thi Vuong, Head of Sa Pa Information and Culture Department, estimated total revenue in 3 days reached 63 billion VND. She added that due to the extreme weather, visitors to Sapa are not too crowded. There was no room increase across town on this occasion.

One locality also increased tourism revenue in the past few days Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang. Mr. Nguyen Viet Tuan, Head of Culture and Information Department of Hoang Su Phi district, said that in the past four days, the number of visitors to Chieu Lau Thi peak watching the ice and snow has increased dramatically, about 200-300 visitors per day. 

Tourists come here to stay concentrated mainly at the homestay of the local people, at the foot of the mountain. In addition, customers shop for local agricultural products such as mountain goat meat, black pork … The average spending per tourist is 800,000 VND.

The Management Office of Mau Son Tourist Area (Lang Son) statistics for 3 days from 8 to 10/1, tourists coming here increased compared to the usual weekend, about 5,500 arrivals. 9 accommodation establishments in the tourist area have been full of rooms since the New Year, when the forecast of ice and snow appeared.

In Cao Bang province, the top of Phia Oac mountain (Nguyen Binh district) welcomes more than 2,500 visitors in 4 days 8-11. Room occupancy rates at accommodation establishments in the district are 20-25%. Particularly in Kolia Ecotourism Area, the occupancy rate reaches 90%, 2 weekends full of rooms.

From January 8 to January 11, due to the cold air, some areas in Lang Son, Quang Ninh , Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau appeared frozen. In which Y Ty (Lao Cai) has snow about 7-10 cm thick, attracting many visitors.
