- At the age of nearly 90, while many people have chosen to rest, peacefully with their children and grandchildren, Mrs. Luu Thi Thi Thi (born in 1934, Hoang Xa village, Hoang Kim commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi) still enthusiastically participates in the activities of the local new rural construction movement.
According to the people, in the past, when the road connecting the Red River dyke to the village has not been expanded, for many years, the area along hoang Xa dike often occurs flooding, the travel of people is increasingly difficult.
Responding to the movement of building a new countryside in the locality, Ms. Luu Thi Pham voluntarily donated land, donated nearly 1.7 billion VND to expand the inter-rural road, helping the face of rural change. .
Born on a land with a long cultural history, in the resistance against the U.S., Ms. Pham volunteered to participate as a citizen of the fire line. Upon her return to her homeland, she continued to work in production and economic development. In addition to cultivating for her family, Ms. Giang always grieves with the local volunteer chapels, wanting to do something to contribute to building a more beautiful homeland and country.
Ms. Luu Thi Giat shared: “In response to the movement of the whole population to build new rural areas in the period of 2011-2020, from 2013 until now, I have actively participated with leaders in the village, The People’s Committee of Hoang Kim commune actively mobilized households to voluntarily donate landto pave the way.

According to Ms. Giang, starting from the purpose of wanting to contribute to building a more and more beautiful homeland, she and her family have voluntarily supported nearly VND 1.7 billion to rebuild the entire fence, sub-works for households to donate land to pave the way, and contributions to build new rural areas and other expenses.
“From the work of village leaders, hamlets, exemplary party members, we have understood and are willing to tell each other to donate land as a new way. Spacious roads are convenient for traffic participation in the neighborhood, the face of the village is more spacious and especially the family business is also convenient” – Ms. Giay said.
Talking to Labor, Mr. Luu Van Luong – Head of Hoang Xa village said that thanks to the contribution in land donation, funding donation of nearly VND 1.7 billion of Ms. Luu Thi Luong, up to now, the village road here has become more convenient, spacious and clean. In addition to local movements, Ms. Tien enthusiastically participated in volunteer work such as giving gifts to poor and disadvantaged families in Hoang Kim commune.
In response to the movement “The whole people participated in the prevention and control of COVID-19epidemic”, she and her family supported Me Linh General Hospital with 100 protective clothing, 3,000 medical masks worth VND 20 million.
With these contributions, Ms. Luu Thi Giac has been repeatedly awarded the title of “Good people, good er jobs” by the People’s Committee of Me Linh district, receiving certificates of merit in the movement “The whole people work together to build new rural areas”, nominated as one of 10 elite citizens of the Capital in 2020.
