CAN THO – On the afternoon of May 1, hundreds of guests flocked to a 25,000 m2 durian garden in O Mon district, picking and eating it on the spot, the fragrance wafting through the garden?

Hearing the introduction of an acquaintance, Linh’s group of 10 friends from Can Tho City went to a durian garden of 25,000 m2 in O Mon district to visit on a holiday. This garden grows about 300 durian trees with 3 types of Ri6, Muangthong, Musang King, which are cared for in an organic form. Durian is in season, so visitors to the garden can see the fruit dangling from the branches wherever they go.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh, 52 years old, the garden owner said that this durian he has been growing for 5-6 years. In the past, the garden was growing and selling fruit to traders. For a year now, he has combined with ecotourism, giving visitors free garden visits and serving country dishes from chickens, frogs, mice, snails, etc. glass cleaner fish, giant catfish, snakehead fish, snakehead fish… priced from 99,000 VND to 359,000 VND.

“What I am impressed with here is that the space is very large and cool. Taking photos and checking in under the durian tree are equally interesting. Although the guests are quite crowded because they go early, the order quickly at noon and the food is delicious. , reasonable price. Those who follow behind may not have a table to sit down”, Ms. Linh shared.

Similarly, Ms. Mai’s family in Long Xuyen, An Giang also enjoyed visiting the durian garden. “It was only now that I saw the durian tree in real life, the fruit was very bad, and the garden did not charge an entrance fee, so everyone spread out mats under the tree to sit and play, and at noon, they would order food to enjoy on the spot,” added Mai. I’m happy, but I’m also a bit afraid of durian falling on my head.

“On weekdays, it’s only crowded on Saturdays and Sundays. On holidays, guests come in and out continuously, the most crowded at noon. The garden has about 16 huts to serve guests, but the tables are always full, each hut can serve guests. maximum of 15 people,” said Mr. Oanh.

Sharing about tourists’ fear of durian falling on their heads, Mr. Oanh said that visitors can rest assured: “I have many years of experience in durian cultivation, so I know when the fruit is ripe. Currently the fruit on the tree is still young, It doesn’t fall out suddenly, so customers can rest assured,” said Mr. Oanh with a smile.

The durian garden is open from 8 am to 5 pm daily, guests who come to have fun with food needs should book a table in advance. This place has ripe durian, if you want to enjoy it in the garden, you can buy it for 70,000 VND/kg.

The attraction is about 2 km from Tac Ong Thuc bridge, O Mon district, located along the river, with a destination nameplate. However, the road to the garden is not convenient for cars, only motorbikes should be used. At peak hours, many guests who have not booked a table in advance have to leave midway because the garden is crowded, and afraid to wait.
