Enjoy the peace in the high places of Ha Giang

The summer rains suddenly made the mountains and forests of Ha Giang put on a green coat, captivating people’s hearts.

This is not my first time on the rocky plateau. During my 2017 trip, I had about 3 days and 2 nights riding a motorbike on the same winding road, enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the river, mountains, and majestic rocky plateau never known before. I left Ha Giang with a bit of regret for not spending enough time exploring more of the roads.

Recently, I had the opportunity to return to this place. The impression of a majestic, unspoiled rock plateau is still intact, in front is still a zigzag road, on both sides are cat ears rocks, cornfields “growing on arid rocks”, old houses but Peacefully nestled behind a stone wall and welcoming Hmong children in colorful dresses with flowers.

Majestic roads

Through hundreds of kilometers from Ha Giang city to Dong Van then Tu San and Du Gia canyons, the majestic mountain picture gradually opened up in front of my eyes with steep slopes, passes connecting passes. Of all the points I’ve been to, few routes have brought me so many emotions.

The winding road led us from one scene to another magnificent picture.

Between hundreds of passes and steep and dangerous slopes, Tham Ma slope is still a place that many tourists refer to when talking about their trip to the Northeast. The slope is located on National Highway 4C, considered the gateway connecting the landmarks of Ma Pi Leng, Sung La, Pho Bang, Lung Cu flagpole…

Seen from afar, the road with successive sleeve bends is like a soft but challenging silk strip.

Children of the Mong ethnic group in traditional colorful costumes, carrying baskets full of wildflowers, have clear smiles that many tourists remember forever.

During my return visit, I have plenty of time to visit famous destinations and also the lands deep inside the valley, which are not too developed in terms of tourism.

Visit famous places

First, the field of buckwheat flowers blooms out of season. I was quite surprised and excited to admire a garden full of flowers at Thach Son Than. The place is a cluster of tall limestone columns with strange shapes located in the geological heritage of the Dong Van rock plateau.

Normally, the buckwheat season on the rocky plateau falls around September-December. Therefore, in April-May, the flowers in the garden do not have a characteristic dark pink color but are pale, mainly pinkish-white due to the temperature of 25-28 degrees Celsius. The flower garden still resonates with the cornfields and mountains. create a charming scene.

Next, we got on the bus to visit Quan Ba Twin Mountain, which is also located along with National Highway 4C. Climbing a few dozen steps to the heaven gate, you can see the whole poetic beauty of Tam Son town, in the distance are the famous twin mountains, almost equal in size, lined up in parallel.

The road to the Lung Cu flagpole is still majestic, one side of the mountain is majestic, and the other side is covered with a green color like the day before. With an altitude of 1,470 m above sea level, the Lung Cu flagpole is the sacred northernmost landmark of the country. Standing here, visitors can capture the full view of Ha Giang’s nature.

Ma Pi Leng, a 20 km long road connecting Meo Vac town with Dong Van, is known as one of the four great peaks of Vietnam. Standing on the top of the pass, my friends and I competed to take souvenir photos with Tu San gorge, and Nho Que river as soft as a green thread winding around the foot of the mountain.

In the evening, I rested in the village of H’Mong Pa Vi. The tourist spot is located not far from Ma Pi Leng pass, imbued with the culture of the Mong ethnic group.

The village has a total area of more than 46,000 m2, including 3 main areas with nearly 30 households living and doing community tourism. This place has quite a variety of accommodation types and homestays for guests to choose from, such as A Kiet Homestay, Little Yen’s Homestay, Meo Vac Clay House, and Pa Vi Homestay… Prices range from 150,000-1.5 million VND /night.

Falling in love with nature Du Gia

The road from Pa Vi to Du Gia is less than 80 km long, but it is considered the most difficult road we passed with sharp bends, narrow roads, and steep and rocky slopes. I also think that this is the most beautiful part of the road, the scenery on both sides of the road is the most diverse and impressive.

Du Gia welcomed us with a layer of green vegetation covering the limestone mountains, full of life after the morning rain. The land in the Yen Minh district is still quite new on the tourist map of Ha Giang. This place possesses a peaceful, wild look, the village is immersed in majestic nature.

The first time I came to visit, I chose to spend the night at Tom’ Du Gia homestay, in the middle of Coc Pang village, enjoying stream fish, coriander, bamboo shoots, village chicken…

“Soon, when I return to the city, this atmosphere will be just nostalgia”, I really thought as I tried to remind myself to get up early, walk around the village, enjoy the view and enjoy the scenery. breathe fresh air, birdsong, rooster crow…

I believe that Tham Luong waterfall is a place you should take the time to visit. Walking about 2 km, passing through rice fields, flax growing areas, and pine forests, you will encounter a white waterfall, the sound of the waterfall overwhelms all other sounds around. Many tourists enjoy soaking in the cold, clear water.

The road is sometimes flat but sometimes bumpy and slippery, requiring attention and care in every move.

On the way, the group met many Hmong children. After a moment of hesitation, the children greeted us with a smile and led us to the waterfall area.

In this remote land with many difficulties, besides nature, the sincerity, warmth, and hospitality of the people are also a bright spot, impressing tourists.
