Train ticket booking: Some famous train houses here are: Ngoc Thanh, SuperDong are two high-speed train lines and Thanh Tu and Duc Trung are ordinary trains. You should book 1-2 months in advance to be able to take the earliest train to Hon Son Island. Time for the ship to move to the island is 1 hour and 15 minutes. We booked SuperDong train with the fare of 120,000 VND, the train ran fast and smoothly.

According to experience, you should book car tickets, train tickets and motels on the island in advance, because Hon Son is gradually gaining more attention, so the number of people coming to the island is increasing. For the complete fun, it is advisable to prepare tickets to and from the train, especially on weekends because it is a time when tickets are often sold out, there are no tickets to go and return. Like when I returned, I could not buy a train ticket, so I bought it from the black market for twice the price: 220,000 VND.
Booking train tickets requires an ID card to book, each ID card is only allowed to book 1 ticket.

Day 1:
Going to Kien Giang, our group went to eat fish noodle soup ‘Ut oh’ – a famous restaurant. Delicious vermicelli, very tasty, only costs 30,000 VND / bowl.
While waiting for the boat to go to the island, the group went for a walk to visit Vincom Kien Giang.

The group contacted and booked accommodation at Homestay ‘Rai Ca’. When going to the port, the homestay people come to pick up and take the car out for the group as well. Drive for about 5 minutes to get home. The first impression is that the Homestay is cute, with many decorative scenes for those who love to take pictures.
We check in and have lunch with dishes: Braised fish rice, fried squid and 1 sour hotpot. Eat full that only 80,000 / person.

After eating, we go back to our room to rest for the afternoon to go snorkeling and see the coral.
The tour guide for the group is quite friendly and enthusiastic. He took us around to the dock and started diving. He also caught the sea nuggets to cook for us at night. If he wants to eat seafood, he will take it to buy. Seafood on the island is fresh and cheap.
The seafood we bring to the restaurant will be processed at the price of 40,000 VND / kg. If you order more dishes at the restaurant, the processing cost ranges from 100,000 – 200,000 VND package.

Enjoying dinner by the beach is nothing like. Some of the delicious seafood dishes not to be missed when coming to Hon Son island are: grilled nuggets with onion fat, steamed shrimp with ginger or seafood hot pot.

Day 2:
In the morning we get up to have breakfast, on the island sell many dishes, spoiled for choice: fish vermicelli, com rib, banh canh, nui … the price ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 VND / bowl.
After eating, we walked around the island. The island with the most green trees is coconut trees that look exactly like the Vietnamese version of the Maldives. Clear blue sea, the weather pleases people. Very beautiful and romantic! We stopped at the wharf to take a photo.

Hon Son Island also has 7 mountains, of which the highlight is Ma Thien Lanh mountain with the height of 450m. Overcoming the steps and walking through the gravel path, reaching the top of the mountain, you will admire the immense beautiful sea and watch all kinds of animals. Therefore, in the next journey to explore Hon Son Island, we climbed ‘Ma Thien Lanh’ mountain, reached the highest peak of Hon Son, and had a panoramic view of the island.

After eating, we pack up to leave, the last train will depart at 16 o’clock. If the train is late, it will take a wooden train more than 4 hours to reach the mainland.
