Top of the Chess Board

Ban Co Peak is likened to the “roof” of Da Nang because it has an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. The name Ban Co is also associated with a legend passed down through generations. Because Son Tra peninsula possesses a charming landscape, the two fairies chose the highest place to play chess for many days. One day, a fairy flew down to the beach right next to the peninsula to have fun, causing a fairy to distract the game, go to the wrong country and lose the battle. The winner rode the clouds to heaven, the remaining fairy, because he had not yet accepted defeat, decided to sit down and find a new move, but day after day there was still no result. Therefore, the people here built a statue of a fairy sitting by the chessboard to prove the legend.
