Early in the morning, going to the sea to pull a net, a fisherman in Quang Binh was happy to win a catch of about 100 fish, earning nearly 30 million VND.
The fisherman who just caught a catch of raft fish is Mr. Phan Minh Phuong, residing in Bau Bang village, Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province.
According to Mr. Phuong, on the morning of February 19, he sailed to the sea near the shore to pull the net from the previous afternoon and was happy to discover many raft fish caught in the net. Mr. Phuong’s total number of fish in this net was about 100, with a total weight of nearly 300kg.
“Because there were so many fish, I had to pull the net and the fish to shore, mobilize my relatives and ask neighbors to come out and remove the fish from the net. At the beginning of the year, when I won such a big catch of fish, I was very excited,” Fisherman Phuong said.
Hearing that Mr. Phuong’s boat was hit by fish, people and traders came to buy fish as soon as the boat landed. The fish has a long, flat body, big bones, thick fish skin with a characteristic yellow and silver color, and thick, white, firm and delicious meat.
With the fish selling price of 100,000 VND/kg, in just one trip to the beach, fisherman Phan Minh Phuong earned nearly 30 million VND. Besides Mr. Phuong, on February 19, another fisherman, Mr. Le Van Ha, residing in Duc Trach commune, also won nearly 50 raft fish.
In Quang Binh, in recent days, many ships and fishing boats of fishermen also caught successfully. Especially in the flat areas, fishermen have had a big hit of herring.
Every day, the boats of fishermen from the communes in Quang Binh go out to sea twice, early in the morning and in the evening, each trip takes 4-5 hours, and can catch tons of herring.
With a price of 15,000-20,000 VND/kg, “sea fortune” at the beginning of the year brings millions of dong in income every day for fishermen.
