QUANG NINH – Tra Co beach, Sa Vi cape, a hundred-year-old communal house, and an ancient church are places visitors can explore when coming to Mong Cai.
Tra Co is a ward of Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, located in the northeast of the country. The land owns a beautiful pristine landscape, carrying with it cultural and historical values. 17 km . long beach
About 8 km from Mong Cai city and about 200 km from Ha Long city center, Tra Co beach is one of the places with the longest coastline in Vietnam. The white sand beach, clear water and blue poplar rows are the difference, only this area has. Visitors will admire the unspoiled nature and immerse themselves in the peaceful space of the coastal fishing village.

Cape Sa Vi
Sa Vi Cape – the first place to receive the sun in the North is in Tra Co ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. Standing at Sa Vi cape, visitors can see the crescent-shaped Tra Co beach 17km long. This is also the venue for the Aquaman Vietnam aquathlon (swim-run) tournament.
Aquaman Vietnam takes place on October 2 with a scale of 1,000 slots (individuals or teams). Visitors to Tra Co on this occasion will be immersed in an exciting sporting event. Aquaman Vietnam is the first biathlon race in Vietnam, organized by VnExpress Newspaper in collaboration with Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee.
The roof of the sea village
Tra Co communal house is located in the southeast of Tra Co ward, about 150 meters from the coast, in the middle of a residential area that lives mainly by fishing and aquaculture. The communal house was built in the Late Le Dynasty (1461), the process of formation and existence of the communal house is associated with the history of formation and development of people and this land.
Located at the mouth of the sea, it has endured many storms and storms, but the houses here have not surrendered but still persisted. Over the years, the salty taste of the sea and traces of time seem to have been imprinted on each tile roof and steps.
Located close to the Vietnam-China border, where it seems to be most strongly influenced by Chinese culture, but the rather massive communal house at the top of this country completely bears the imprint of Vietnamese culture with the public font, 5 compartments, 2 wings. Under the curved roof of the house, roofed with colored roof tiles, you will see the familiar silhouettes of communal houses in the countryside of the Northern Delta.
In 1974, Tra Co communal house was ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
Tra Co Church
Tra Co Church is also a place tourists should visit. This is a project imbued with cultural, religious and historical imprints. The church, also known as Trang Lo, was built in the 80s of the 19th century to meet the religious needs of the people of this area.
The church has an area of over 12,000 m2, facing the South, built in the Gothic style (a Western European architecture) with many pointed domes, facing the sky. The inside of the church is decorated with wood carvings, bearing the culture of the indigenous people. There is also a bronze bell more than 80 years old.
