Born with a body with glass bones, the boy from Hai Phong still cherishes the plan to set foot in all parts of the country.

“Let me help you”, the security guard of the cafe immediately ran out when he saw the disabled guest appear. However, the other guest refused. He asked the security guard to lift the wheelchair while he crawled up the steps leading to the shop by himself.

That is Vu Ngoc Anh, a guy born in 1987, who has conquered nearly 50 provinces and 4 poles, 1 peak of Vietnam by all kinds of ways of rolling, crawling… just like the picture when he entered the shop. coffee earlier.

“Walk” jubilantly throughout the mountains and forests of Vietnam

In fact, Ngoc Anh is not a strange name with the first generation 8X or 9X. He used to run a famous technology forum for a long time. Currently, the boy from Hai Phong is focusing on his own work and trying to complete the long-cherished plan to bring music to “dance” throughout Vietnam.

“In the past, I used to go very hard, now I’m weak, travel gently like this”, Ngoc Anh said about the reason why he started traveling in combination with jubilant music in recent times. Ngoc Anh on a trip to “dance” music. Photo: NVCC.

He confided that he had a love for EDM music for a long time. Traveling always makes him excited, even though his legs can’t walk like a normal person. Ngoc Anh confided that she wanted to combine two hobbies to find a new feeling.

The majestic spaces, outdoor space make his soul “sublimated” the most. Therefore, the points Ngoc Anh chooses are usually mountains, forests, rivers, sea…

If you look at Ngoc Anh playing music at a mid-range camera angle (taking half of his body), many people probably don’t think he has a physical defect. His hands are quick to adjust the buttons on the DJ table, his head is swaying, wearing stylish sunglasses. Sometimes, he also claps his hands and dances to the music.

Of course, Ngoc Anh cannot do too strong movements because of the fragile bone structure. The hands are broken many times, deformed by the glass bones of the DJ cum travel vlogger. Photo: Anh Tu.

“I myself am a hard-to-travel person, so it’s good to go outside to play. Therefore, playing music in beautiful and majestic places brings a very different feeling. People say travel is to explore and experience I experienced many things. And I wanted to find a place to play the music I like,” he said.

In addition to serving personal interests, Ngoc Anh also wants to use music videos to promote Vietnam tourism to international friends. He said that the genre of music he plays is electronic music, very “trendy”, suitable for international culture. Combining modernity with Vietnamese characteristics is this young man’s long-cherished dream.

An ordinary disabled person

Answering Zing, Ngoc Anh shared that people often commented that they were richer in confidence and vivacious than many people in the same situation. He also considers himself a normal person and doesn’t want to be seen as a special case. For Ngoc Anh, being born with glass bones can even be considered a gift for him to live more energetically.

However, at some point, ordinary people like Ngoc Anh also want to be like… ordinary people.Glass bone boy with passion for “music witch”. Photo: Anh Tu.

“Whatever you say, deep inside I still have a bit of self-doubt. Like when I meet a ladder that is too high, I also wish I had the same health as everyone else to go to such sections. Many times, I also had to return. because it’s too much,” Ngoc Anh said.

The memory that still makes Ngoc Anh disappointed when recalling is the trip to Mui Doi (Van Ninh, Khanh Hoa). To get here, visitors need to cross the high sand dunes like mountains. The road to Mui Doi is considered to be quite difficult, even for ordinary people.

The glass bone boy recalled: “I still remember that moment. At that time, I was very excited when I was about to have the opportunity to conquer the Double Cape. However, everything quickly turned to disappointment when looking at the vast landscape. are dunes, there is no way to see.”

Many times encountering such cases, Ngoc Anh understands that she needs to find destinations more suitable for her health. Trying to walk the same path as a normal person is sometimes impossible. Therefore, Ngoc Anh began to plan and research in advance the destinations for the most convenient trip. After the unsuccessful conquest of Mui Doi, he moved to Mui Dien (Phu Yen) and also succeeded. In the journey to conquer 4 poles, 1 peak, Ngoc Anh admitted that the trip to Fansipan (Sa Pa, Lao Cai) was the most arduous. He has been planning to conquer with his knees since 2011 but has not been able to do it. It was not until the cable car was completed that this wish came true.

“For the average person, 600 steps to the top of Fansipan only takes about 30 minutes. It takes me up to 1.5 hours, walking and resting. I have to have my own route to go to such places. Bone structure I only had a strong impact to break, my knee was not born to walk. Therefore, to get to the top, I had to crawl, roll…”, he said.

Like to take risks, challenge yourself

Life associated with a wheelchair makes Ngoc Anh’s trips somewhat inconvenient. During the moving journey, once, he almost broke his leg, the car lost its slope or was teased and asked for money. Such a risk, but this guy’s priority is still solo travel.

“If I meet robbers or ask for money, I will give them all. I never bring more than 500,000 VND in my body,” he said.

After many incidents, Ngoc Anh learned more lessons to protect herself.

In addition to the unhappy things, the Hai Phong guy also has many good memories. He met many good people who were willing to help, even giving up all day to go with him. Many times, Ngoc Anh was also offered to push the wheelchair, but he always refused. He didn’t want to be seen as defective in anyone’s eyes. Answering Zing, Ngoc Anh admits that she likes to challenge herself, to get out of her comfort zone. 2010 marked the first time he left home to start an independent life in Hanoi. Before that, it took him 3, 4 months to convince his parents to allow him.

“My life at home is so full. My parents worry about everything. I don’t know where to make money. It’s not life. Life is definitely not like that,” he shared.

Leaving home, going to live in Hanoi, then Ho Chi Minh City, gave Ngoc Anh more experiences and collisions. He realized that everything was not as difficult as he imagined. Before, he didn’t even know how to cook. Now, Ngoc Anh ranks herself as a “master chef”. Or in the past, Ngoc Anh was also often self-deprecating, not daring to talk about her feelings to any girl. Now, he is much more confident…Life outside is not as difficult as Ngoc Anh thought. Photo: NVCC.

Ngoc Anh said that she does not intend to become an example or an inspirational figure for anyone. Everything has been his way of living and overcoming his inborn defects.

“What I do for the community is probably just giving cars to people with disabilities. However, I really want to promote the image of Vietnam to the world. After the translation, I want to develop a travel series. “rolling” my music further. That way, people will see what life and travel journeys look like within 1 meter of sight…”, Ngoc Anh laughed.
