About 20 km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city, the cherry blossom island of Pa Khoang is racing to bloom, signaling a new spring. Cherry blossoms planted at Pa Khoang Lake bloom for more than a month, the most beautiful in mid-January.
Lo Thi Nhung, 22 years old, from Dien Bien Phu City, said that every year, on every occasion when flowers bloom, she and her friends go to Pa Khoang cherry blossom garden to visit and take commemorative photos. “On New Year’s Day, this place has a very peaceful feeling in the cold weather,” she said.
Not only young people, but some older tourists also come to take pictures for themselves. Ms. Duong Thi Huyen, 48 years old, from Muong Te (Lai Chau), shared: “I was surprised by the beauty of cherry blossoms in Pa Khoang, seeing the peach blossom island with thousands of trees blooming for the first time. I want to share photos in front of the beauty of this place for many friends to know.”
From the center of Dien Bien Phu city, visitors move in the direction of Ta Leng – Muong Phang road to Keo village (Pa Khoang commune) or to the provincial guest house in Pa Khoang and then take a boat to “Flower Island”.
