GIA LAI – Waterfall K50, also known as Hang En waterfall, is in a beautiful season, the water flows like a soft white silk strip.

K50 waterfall or Hang En waterfall is located in Kon Chu Rang nature reserve, K’Bang district, northern Gia Lai province. It is about 150 km from Pleiku city center. The best season to explore the falls is the dry season from March to June every year. At this time, it is sunny, no rain, and the waterfall flows more smoothly.

Chiem, from Hanoi, and his friends explored the waterfall on March 20-24. After the Covid-19 epidemic, the group used their own car to be safe, departing from Hanoi at noon and moving continuously until 8 am the next morning. Everyone in the group took turns driving.

K50 waterfall belongs upstream of Con River, flowing from Gia Lai to Binh Dinh. The waterfall is called Hang En because behind the water is a cave where many grasses swallows live. The name K50 refers to the height of more than 50 m of the waterfall.

Previously, to reach the waterfall, people needed to cross the forest for about 8 hours, but now there are more concrete roads that allow motorbikes to enter near the foot of the waterfall. At the end of the concrete road, visitors walk about 20 minutes to reach the waterfall. Because this is a forest road, you need to equip yourself with long-sleeved clothes, high socks and a walking stick to avoid insects and snakes.

This season, the lake at the foot of the waterfall is shallower, revealing rocks of various shapes. Visitors can choose flat, non-slip places to camp. In addition, there are 4 shacks on the way to the waterfall, but Anh Chiem group chose the one closest to the foot of the waterfall and stayed here for 2 nights to enjoy the scenery at any time of the day.

“The waterfall is as high as a highway, the water rumbles down below, steam flies in the air. Standing in front of this majestic frame, we feel completely small, returning to nature”, Mr. Chiem said. To share. This is the second time he has come to K50 waterfall because he is impressed with the majestic, poetic, hospitable people and the atmosphere of the Central Highlands.

In the evening or around 5:30 am (in the photo), visitors can take more mysterious photos by the waterfall. The author shared that because of the high waterfall, to take pictures of the smooth water flow, a longer exposure is needed.

In the early morning, the rays of sunlight crept through the trees in the middle of the thousands, directly down to the campsite and the lake by the stream. At this time, the group crossed the cliffs to the other side of the waterfall. The path is not too difficult but many high rocks, visitors need to be careful.

Sunlight through the mist from the waterfall easily creates a rainbow. Visitors can bathe below this clear, cool water, but need to watch out for the reefs under their feet.

Passing the other side of the waterfall, visitors can enter En Cave. In front of the cave entrance is green vegetation. The air inside is cool, especially the rumbling echo from the waterfall is more obvious. This year, Anh Chiem’s group could not enter the cave because the water was still high. The photo above was taken in March 2021.

Up to now, most of the shops and services on the way to visit the waterfall have reopened after Covid-19. Visitors can enjoy some specialties such as one-day beef dipped in Gia Lai ant eggs , lam rice, grilled chicken and pork.
