NGHE AN – Waterfall is located in Hua Muong village, Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district, located at an altitude of more than 1,000 m above sea level.

Belonging to the Nghe An border area, the waterfall complex is located in the core of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve, on the Huoi Dan stream flowing from Laos, surrounded by majestic mountains. The waterfall stretches for about 7 km with seven large cascades and many different small cascades.

In the main area of the waterfall, on both sides of the cliff, there are winding rock holes. According to the authorities, this land was formerly the site of geological tectonics, with unique faults. Over thousands of years, through the process of weathering and hydroification, it has created a magnificent waterfall complex.

Upstream of the waterfall there are many beautiful rocky beaches, stacked on top of each other. This is also a place where visitors can bathe, organize meals, camp…

Located at an altitude of more than 1,000 m above sea level, with seven main water levels of the waterfall-like white silks intertwined. Behind the cascades are vast flat rocky beaches, with many fast-flowing streams of white foam.

From March to September every year is the most suitable time to explore the seven-tiered waterfall. Visitors here can take a bath to cool off in the area around the waterfall. If you are adventurous, you can go to the top, find your way between the flowing waters and then slide from the top of the falls to the shock absorbers below. Photo: Nguyen’s Book

On both sides of the waterfall, there are many thatched-roof huts built by indigenous people, with an area of about 5-7 m2.

After bathing in the waterfall, visitors can rent a temporary shack to rest, order for local people to enjoy specialties of the mountainous region such as lam rice, grilled stream fish, grilled hill chicken, forest bamboo shoots… at a reasonable price.

To facilitate travel across the Huoi Dan stream, the local government built a bamboo bridge hundreds of meters long, placed on large stone blocks.

This area has many fields, reflected like mirrors. In the ripe rice season, this is a favorite photo spot.

About 1 km from the seven-story waterfall, some households have taken advantage of the stilt houses to run homestay services. A house on stilts can accommodate 30 guests, priced at 100,000 VND/person/day. If you do not like to stay at a homestay, you can return to the center of Que Phong district, which is tens of kilometers away, to rent a hotel or motel.

On the way to the seven-story waterfall, visitors will be able to see, experience, and check-in at ancient houses with thatched roofs of samu wood with a history of about 100 hundred years ago in Long Thang village, Hanh Dich commune.

Mr. Lo Van Viet, Chairman of Hanh Dich Commune, said the commune had the resolution to upgrade the seven-story waterfall infrastructure, preserve the old houses in Long Thang village to associate with the development of community tourism.

If there were no epidemics, every year, thousands of visitors would come here to visit, experience the waterfall, and learn about cultural values.
