During the resistance war against the French in 1946, Dam pagoda was burned by the French army, destroying 4 levels of land and severely destroying works, items, and ancient relics. Only two statues of Nguyen Concubine Ỷ Lan and the statue of King Ly Nhan Tong were promptly sent by people to nearby Ham Long Pagoda.
