BINH DINH – Hon Chong is located on the rocks on the beach, not far from Hoang Hau beach in Ghenh Rang – Tien Sa (Quy Nhon city).

From Hoang Hau beach (Egg beach), visitors have to climb and jump over rocks of various shapes and sizes in about 30 minutes to reach Hon Chong. These are two stone blocks stacked on top of each other at a point about 60 m above sea level. From a distance, Hon Chong seems to be easily collapsed by just a push of the hand, but it has stood firm against the wind for many generations and is dubbed the “artwork” of nature by locals and tourists.

Nguyen Thi Bich Van (57 years old), a tourist from Gia Lai said she visited Hon Chong in July 2019. Most visitors to the resort are familiar with Hoang Hau beach and Tien Sa beach, but not many people come to take pictures with Hon Chong rock.

Van shared, the way to Hon Chong rock is completely rocky, so visitors have to crawl, climb and jump over. The path here is not too dangerous, but visitors should be careful and go with friends to help each other when climbing high rocks. In addition, on rainy days, the rocks are slippery, visitors should not climb the rapids. Hon Chong rock is separated from the rock about 50 cm, so visitors need to jump over. The stacked rock block is nearly 10 m high. Up close, you can see that the contact area of the two rocks is not large but very solid.

Arriving at Hon Chong rock, the fatigue of tourists quickly disappears by the sea breeze and the view of the jade-green sea stretching to the horizon. After sightseeing, taking photos, visitors go all the way to the rocky shore for about 1 km to reach the end point in the journey is Tien Sa beach, with smooth crescent-shaped golden sand, patted by turquoise waves. In addition, when coming to Ghenh Rang, do not forget to go to Thi Nhan hill, visit the resting place of poet Han Mac Tu or Ghenh Rang mountain church not far away.

Ghenh Rang, the mountain range winding along the Xuan Van strait, with undulating rocky mountains forming caves, beams, and cliffs, is located about 3 km southeast of Quy Nhon city center. In 1991, this place was ranked as a national scenic spot by the Ministry of Culture and Information (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism today). Today’s tourist area attracts visitors with its pristine beauty and beaches with countless pebbles worn by waves like a giant egg and sea-facing rocks of many shapes.
