LONG AN – A rural road in Tan Tru district planted about 300 king areca trees in a straight line, attracting visitors.

More than 50 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, Ong Do Nghi Street (Tan Tru district) attracts tourists when the two sides plant straight rows of areca trees, trees often planted as ornamental or taking shade by the side of the road.

The road is 2 km long, nearly 3 m wide, planted about 300 areca trees, passing through the green rice fields creating a peaceful scene in the western countryside.

People in the area said that more than a decade ago, this place was just dirt road, then concrete and planted areca king today. The king areca trees are about 15 years old, 10 meters high, growing in straight lines, shading the two sides of the road.

To create more landscape, people in the village also planted grass, green flowers under ten o’clock tree stumps.

There are almost no houses along the way, only vast fields. In addition to rice, this place also grows a lot of dragon fruit on both sides of the road, a specialty of the land of Tan Tru.

Thuy Hang (living in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) enjoys capturing the moment in the middle of a peaceful countryside road. “I saw online sharing this road so I was eager to see it. The king’s areca road is very beautiful, peaceful and always cool even though I visit in the midday sun,” shared the 20-year-old girl.

Khanh Quyen (Tan Tru High School) was leisurely in ao dai after school. “Every day I pass this road to go to school. I am very proud that my hometown has a beautiful scene, known to many people,” the 12th grade girl said.
