2. Architecture of Thien Lam Pagoda

Unlike the Bac Tong Buddhist temples with the three-door gate leading into the Zen garden, Thien Lam pagoda has a gentle Nam Tong Buddhist-style entrance gate, with impressive details, along with the dominant yellow color, spiritual colors of the temple, but in addition, the quality of meditation is still clearly shown in the architecture and space of the temple. It can be said that Thien Lam Hue pagoda is the only ancient pagoda according to the Nam Tong sect inherited from the traditional architecture of Buddhist countries in the world, very different from the temples in Hue.

In terms of architecture, Thien Ton Pagoda has the look of the traditional gilded temples in Thailand with a spiral tower. But when you step into the temple grounds, you will think that you are going to Burma with the land of golden pagodas, or going back to India with the delicate architecture in the tombstones.

The pagoda is a complex of many constructions and architectures such as Buddha tower, tomb tower, monk’s house, statue … Notably, the white stupa towering towering golden peak, about 15m, the top of the tower has a bell shape opposite to the pointy peak and is decorated with reliefs, simple and delicate patterns. The shape of this stupa is modeled after the Sirimagala pagoda of Myanmar. The stupa is divided into 2 parts: below is the main hall, above is to worship Sakyamuni Buddha relics and monks. The space in the main hall is solemn with pictures of Buddha’s life from birth to ordination and nirvana. Behind the living room and meditation retreat.
