Today, I will share my travel experience in Du Gia – the first village in the Ha Giang rocky plateau. Hopefully, after this article, people will have a meaningful travel to Ha Gia and Ha Giang.
How did I fall in love with Du Gia – Ha Giang?
The name Du Gia is quite new in the tourist map of Ha Giang, but for those who love to explore, especially young people, the name of Du Gia is no longer a strange name. . Du Gia is famous for its peaceful, pristine beauty with a majestic natural landscape by mountains and clouds – the first sight of a cloud that anyone who comes here must admit. And especially the people here as well as its beauty are extremely hospitable and friendly.
I came to Ha Giang since 2009. I happened to join a volunteer activity in upland area to build bookcase in Ma Lé – Lung Cu. That day, the name Dong Van – Meo Vac was something very strange to people. Thanks to that, I returned to Ha Giang quite a lot. Up to this point, I returned to Ha Giang like a child in Ha Giang.
But until 2015, I came to know a fairytale and such a wonderful one. Du Gia gave me the experience of a completely different Ha Giang – a completely peaceful feeling. In my opinion – Du Gia is like a resort and a wonderful experience of the people here.
It can be said – Du Gia is a bit picky, the suitable object is a passion for experience and deep discovery, not a place of mortification like Dong Van rock plateau. But every place in Ha Giang gives us a unique experience and at each time we choose the right place. Maybe I just introduced Du Gia to this much. And now I will go into the main topic that is “to get to this version of Du Gia”, how to eat, sleep, and experience traveling here ….
Where is Du Gia?
Du Gia is a commune in Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province, Vietnam. City way. Ha Giang is more than 70km if going to National Road 34 + DT176 (green road). And the city. Ha Giang is more than 110km if going to Highway 4C to Mau Due and cheap to DT181 (brown road).
Currently, to reach Du Gia requires you to ride a motorbike because there is no bus to take place. In the 2 routes on each road there is an interesting own. The green route goes into NH34 heading towards North Me – Cao Bang. This road is extremely bad, especially the section from NH34 turns to Du Gia DT176. Here the road is crumbled by the ore trucks that are mined and run girder every night. And the other brown road, though nearly 40km further away, in return you will pass through the super beautiful and peaceful villages. It can be said that you will run a single road through the super beautiful hills and mountains.
Or you will be able to cross a beautiful suspension bridge and name it yourself as “San Francisco” bridge of Ha Giang. The bridge is crossed over the Mien River. At each point you will see this point wearing a different shirt color. If summer is the green of corn fields, bamboo rows and green rice fields, then in winter you will see a burning color of the corn field being harvested. In spring, you will be amazed by the two rows of long and blind cherry blossoms on both sides of the endless road in the village of Lung Tam.
On this road, your little tip: Go to the beautiful “top” places, you should stop and listen to the scent of the forest, listen to the flowers. Surely this will be a pleasant experience and keep in your memory when you return.
Here, if you go in the summer, you will be able to see first-hand rows of tall flax trees that look like needles. (In fact, flax is also a family name, but is used to weave fabrics.)
This is about 2.5km from Du Gia – if you go in the beginning of the third lunar month, you will be surprised that there are 2 rows of rice flowers blooming bright red on both sides of the road.
Tourist places in Du Gia
In Du Gia there are not many tourist attractions, but in exchange there are many experiences that you cannot ignore such as: Catching fish in streams, bathing in a waterfall, or a dreamy morning you walk through the villages.
Bathing Tham Luong waterfall – Du Gia
How to get there: About 4km from Du Gia town, deep in the Hmong village, the directions are a bit difficult but the best way to get there is thanks to local people.
Catch fish on Du Gia stream
This is one of the experiences you cannot miss when coming to Du Gia. You will be fitted with a pair of glasses that look quite like minions and squash down to see the fish laughing at the bottom of the rock. This idiot Ahihi – you take me. Personally, I think this experience is no less than diving watching the lake in the fish sea. But I like this better. Because the result after this fishing trip is that I have a plate of deep-fried fish.
Experience shooting fish in Du Gia
Binh Yen in Du Gia Homestay
The experience at Homestay with the people here is the same. I really like waking up from homestay in the morning – Binh Yen heard the morning rust, the aroma of rice was fragrant …
Walk around the village
Walking around in the morning version is sure to bring back a full HD uncovered video of the pig. Accompanied by smiles, friendly invitations of the local people here.
Eat up the local specialties here
The specialties here such as: Stream fish, Ban chicken, giant vegetables, bamboo shoots and many other dishes are waiting for you to discover.
Phong Luu – Du Gia love market
Du Gia days forgetting her husband, forgetting his wife
Dear man coming down the mountain with me
Remember to bring a horse and go alone
I am not still pretty Although
there is an umbrella to shade Phong Luu love market
Can mention the love market, people immediately think of Khau Vai. But in Du Gia there is also a fair like that – Phong Luu market.
If you cannot go on the right day of Phong Luu love market, the rustic Sunday market still takes place here and still retains its traditional beauty.
And many other places and experiences are waiting for you to explore in Du Gia
If you have experiences or discover new tourist destinations, please comment on this article for me to add. Or I have more other experiences that will be actively included.
Where to stay when to Du Gia
If you expect to stay in luxury hotels, Wi-Fi running “ferry ferry”, high class service, then you should stay in Hanoi. Currently in Du Gia there is no luxury hotel or budget hostel … So one thing you must definitely stay in Homestay (remember that Homestay is in the same house as the people, currently many of you often mistakenly house with a homestay sign. is to be like hostels or hotels like in some other places).
Homestay in Du Gia is a new model that has just developed in recent years, is an activity of experiencing cultural life with the people. In my opinion, this is the best experience to try in my life when swinging Du Gia – Ha Giang. Because it’s not always possible to return to such a peaceful life. Should turn off wifi and focus on enjoying life here is the best. If you have a job, it is enough to hang up the phone to keep in touch with family. So deserves to travel to Ha Giang.
Du Gia Homestay is one of 7 homestay’s most visited destinations. Below is specific information about the homestay for you to easily book.

Should travel to old age?
It can be said to Ha Giang in general Du Gia in particular, every season is beautiful. Each season gives us a different color array. However, the best time to come to Du Gia is summer. Then you will enjoy the fertile green colors of corn cultivation. More wonderful than that is the cool fresh air because the green Du Gia river curves around the village.
