“This time, I chose to build excavators because I wanted to show viewers more unique products than I’ve done before, and my choice to innovate products also challenged myself to tinker, learn more.
My excavator has been working for about 4 months so far and is about 90% complete. With this car, I simulated with a mechanism quite similar to a real car, which can be operated via remote control, using a hydraulic system with cylinders, hydraulic valve mechanism.
The excavator consists of the body and the control system. As for the body, I made it entirely from PVC pipes after searching for real car pictures online and redrawing it on paper to get the dimensions. From round plastic pipes I heat to flatten and shape each detail to assemble, glued together with 502 glue. As for the control system, I use control electrical components purchased at Online.
In the process of doing the part I encountered the most obstacles was the hydraulic system including many details such as cylinders, oil pumps, hydraulic valves, …. To do them, we must first understand the working principle of each part. In addition, these parts also have to be machined with high precision to work, so there are parts that I have to do over and over again to achieve accuracy,” Vang shared.

From a young age, Vang was interested in building cars and was able to create his first model cars from that day on. However, when he took the university entrance exam because he did not have enough marks to enter his favorite major, he studied Thermal Engineering Technology, at Hanoi University of Industry.
After graduating from university, Vang’s passion for building model cars was still very strong, so starting at the end of April last year, he decided to focus on pursuing his passion by building a Youtube channel about this content.
“The first time my channel did not reach many viewers, few subscribers. I worked every day from morning to night to shoot videos and it took 4 months for my channel to start to have growth. Video About the model that simulates the operating principle in cars is a turning point on my Youtube making path when it receives a lot of reception from people.
It simulates the principle of power transmission on cars made from PVC combined with plastic gears. This is also my favorite model. It is not only a regular model but also contains knowledge about cars, helping viewers to understand the basic structure of a car,” Vang shared.
Starting from zero with a passion for manufacturing, the young Hai Duong learns and acquires relevant knowledge through self-study online. The products he makes are completely viewed from drawings on the internet, watch videos of real car simulations and then research and come up with ideas for implementation.
“Perhaps the biggest difficulty for me is finding documents and knowledge about mechanical systems and structures. I don’t have professional knowledge or a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, so It takes a lot of time to learn from websites as well as ask people I know. However, with the development of technology like today, I think everything can be learned online to be real and special. When I work, I always have hope with my products, so I persevere in pursuing it,” Vang confided.
Besides, in the face of negative reviews such as the product does wonders but cannot be used, wasted effort, time and money, Vang said that he did not pay attention to those things. He thinks that everyone has their own opinion and opinion, there will still be people who love to see their true value and he will continue to develop his passion for building model cars.
Currently, he is focusing on developing his channels and has no intention of selling the products he has made even though many people have offered to buy them. In the future, Vang wishes to be able to make more products to both give and sell to people with the same passion as him.
