On January 13, Ms. Ho Bach Diep – the owner of a piece of land with a mango “old man” determined to be 300 years old in Chuong Vich hamlet (Ganh Dau commune, Phu Quoc city ) – said that in 2000, she and her family came here to live. This mango tree is already present and growing very well. Every year, the mango tree blooms and bears fruit.

“This wild mango tree has been around for a long time. The tree is very beautiful, so domestic and foreign tourists who come here love to take pictures. Seeing that, I have preserved and protected the tree until now. This mango tree is legendary among the people. “It’s about 300 years old. I really appreciate this mango tree,” Ms. Diep said happily.

Ms. Diep added that the special thing about this mango tree is that it grows about 100m from the sea but has strong vitality.

Living for a long time, the mango tree’s fruit is not large or sour. When ripe, the fruit has a sweet taste and light aroma.

Therefore, when opening Gio Bien restaurant, Ms. Diep took advantage of the acidity of mangoes to make dishes such as sour soup, sour sea fish hotpot and mixed dried fish salad. The above dishes are very attractive to tourists.
