Dien Bien Phu Coffee Street

Coffee . 7:30 to 22:30. From 32,000 VND/dish

“An old little corner in Saigon with many loving hearts”, the introduction on the shop’s fan page seemed to touch my soul after many days of being caught up in the work wheel.

I came here on a weekend morning. The cafe is hidden in a small alley, I park my car at the end of the alley and I am taken care of by the security guard.

The front yard stands out with rattan chairs and green trees creating a cool feeling. Right from the moment I stepped into this space, I felt like I was rediscovering familiar memories when I briefly heard the sound of old music.

The shop has a ground floor and mezzanine, limited area but still brings a pleasant feeling when sipping coffee. Through the recommendation of the staff, I happened to know that the antiques decorated here are mostly collected by the owner over the years. My favorite corner is the area with the large map.

The menu includes traditional coffee, cocoa, fruit tea and cakes for diners to choose from. The highlight is the name of the drink, which is quite curious about the wordplay.

If you are a person who is sensitive to smoke, you should consider it because the shop also serves guests who have a need to smoke, so there is a slight smell from time to time.

Co Thoi Coffee

Nguyen Dinh Chieu

Coffee . 10-22 o’clock. From 25,000 VND/dish

On the day off, I choose a nice outfit and go on a date with my best friend. As photography enthusiasts, we went to an address where many cameras and old photos were displayed, but at the same time a place to enjoy drinks.

This space is both vintage and retro, but no less modern. The highlight is all around the film camera. The shop seems to evoke nostalgic emotions. The first floor serves coffee drinkers, the second floor is a space for those who need to buy cameras.

The shop is not too large, my companion and I chose to sit at the table next to the window, where there is enough natural light, bringing a lot of inspiration to open a funny story.

I try the Spice Girls cold brew coffee. This drink is a combination of 5 flavors: bitter, spicy, sweet, sour and strong. My friend experienced iced hibicus tea with a sweet and sour taste, easy to drink. Although it is red artichoke tea, the ingredients include a strange peach piece.

Cu Xa Coffee Shop 30

Ngo Thoi Nhiem

Coffee . 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. From 25,000 VND/dish

The name of the restaurant sounds so close, which is what prompted me to come here on a cool day.

The alley has gentle sunshine through the leaves, leading me to the old coffee shop to find a relaxing day.

The shop has a small area, but still includes indoor and outdoor seating corners. With just a few random chairs, I felt like I was sitting in the middle of a park, sipping drinks and enjoying the wind.

The menu is designed to be simple. You can choose from coffee, juice, milk, fruit tea, yogurt… The drink is not too special, in return for the affordable price. Customers order and pay at the counter.

Aday coffee

Nguyen Dinh Chieu

Coffee . 9-22 o’clock. From 16,000 VND/dish

The coffee shop has just put on a new look not long ago, for those who want to find a place to relax, laugh or even have moments of reflection.

The shop is located on the top floor, impressing with the minimalist gray tone walls. The whole scene here has no colorful textures, no eye-catching drawings. However, the main highlight is the corner with many potted plants combined with concrete blocks just like a peaceful garden, but a bit disruptive.

The layout from the tables and chairs, wooden cabinets, paintings, vases to the classical-style cement tiles… makes me feel like I’m back in my old house, embracing my childhood memories.

The menu is not only coffee, ice, soda, tea… but also snacks such as bear cake, elderberry, panna cotta four seasons. For each type, you can choose a small or large portion depending on the need to enjoy.

I choose to sit in the corner on the balcony, conveniently watching the sunset and sipping drinks after stressful working days.
