The intersection to the west of Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Da Nang City, is gradually completed, including the longest underground tunnel in the city.

The project to renovate the intersection west of Tran Thi Ly bridge, in Hai Chau district, was built over the past 20 months, with a three-story design, with a cost of more than 720 billion VND. In which, there is a roundabout connecting four directions and a tunnel through the bottom from Duy Tan Street cutting through Nui Thanh, September 2 to Tran Thi Ly bridge.

The tunnel is seen from Duy Tan street to Tran Thi Ly Bridge, 900 m long. The project belongs to group B, a special-grade traffic work, approved by the city in July 2019, in order to remove the bottleneck of congestion, especially in the peak tourist season. Along with Nguyen Van Linh street, Duy Tan street is the axis leading from the airport through the Tran Thi Ly bridge to the coastal hotels.

Reflective panels are installed along the path to the tunnel.

Many tunnels have completed the rough part. This is also the item that takes the most time to build, because it has to excavate the ground, bottom and pour concrete.

The final stage is honing and painting the tunnel. Previously, Da Nang had two underground projects at the intersection of Tran Phu – Le Duan and Dien Bien Phu – Le Do – Nguyen Tri Phuong. In, the tunnel under Tran Thi Ly bridge is the longest.

Workers align each edge of the tunnel, ensuring the quality of the work.

On the dome of the tunnel, workers spray paint, install electricity, and glue lines.

The highlight of the tunnel is the skylight openings. All items after completion are checked and supervised by engineers.

The mouth of the tunnel on Duy Tan Street is being barricaded and guarded to prevent people from driving into the construction site.

Workers are rushing to complete the final items. The project is expected to be inaugurated on March 29, on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang.

This project was repeatedly urged by city leaders because of the delay in progress. Workers worked overtime to bring the project to the finish line on time.

The overpass floor is open to traffic and put into use from July 14, 2021, solving all traffic jams on the road traffic axis September 2. The roundabout floor is also temporarily allowed for vehicle traffic.
