Mr. Truong has known about art products made from waste and rotten wood for a long time. Coincidentally, his house was close to the forest, there was no shortage of rotten branches and stumps, from which he immediately came up with the idea of designing and reviving these discarded pieces of wood.
The vases are made from rotten branches and stumps left in the forest, the price is about 150-200 thousand VND/piece, depending on the time.

He began to go into the forest looking for rotten branches and stumps. Picking up and filling the house, he went online to learn how to make and unique products made from this wood. “With every piece of wood, I will go online to learn how to create unique and handmade products,” he said.
Going to collect wood is also very time consuming and requires a lot of effort. After the wood was collected, he came up with the idea of cutting, sanding, processing… He had to do a lot of stages to get the finished product. Each product, he tries to make full use of the piece of wood he collects to create a product that is both beautiful and unique.
Like this vase, he cut it from the root of a tree with a mausoleum, then sanded and processed it through many stages to create a unique and strange vase. It looks quite simple, but he said it also takes a lot of time to process. 3 years ago, this vase he sold for about 200,000 VND and was loved by many customers, but recently, he only sold about 150,000 VND.
The table makes use of the stump of a big old tree left in the forest.
All the products he makes are posted online to show off and receive many compliments, new customers also come to him. His products such as vases, tables, etc. were born and delivered to customers in turn. The selling price of each product ranges from several tens of thousands to 15 million VND.
He said that these products that make and sell a lot will have a high income because he does not have to spend money on buying raw materials, he just takes the effort to make it. Some years, he earns up to 300 million VND from working and selling these products.
Products made from discarded wood in this forest are priced from a few tens of thousands to more than tens of millions of dong/product.
Each product will have its own unique character.
“The products made from this waste and rotten wood are actually ideas imported from abroad into Vietnam. It follows the natural style combined with modern, so it is popular with many people.
About 7-8 years ago, these products were popular, customers bought a lot. But in recent years, this trend has decreased, but there are still some people who like to buy it, just not as popular as before,” he shared.
Previously, customers bought a lot, he had to hire more people to pick up rotten wood and waste wood from the forest to sell to customers in time. This year, the consumption trend is decreasing, the market competition is stronger, sales are also slower. However, Mr. Truong still works with the desire to revive the discarded pieces of wood and will do another job to earn income.
