“Previously, this Saigon riverbank did not have a complete embankment, next to the old house, people traded, opened pubs … Since the end of last year, when this area was cleared as an embankment and built a park. Many people come there to fly kites due to the spacious and airy space, ”said Mr. Dinh Xuan Ninh ( Binh Thanh District ).
Every afternoon, hundreds of people come to fly kites, especially families with small children and young people.
“I do not know how to fly a kite yet, I see you only this area is only about 5 km from the center, you do not have to go to the suburbs, so come here to practice flying. Although the kite here is not too large, it is very convenient to travel ”, An (21 years old) said.
According to the players, this area is located next to the Saigon River, open space and strong winds, suitable for game flying kites. This is also a rare place in the inner city where you can fly a kite comfortably.

Urban children are infatuated with kites, the game is usually only associated with rural children.
Many parents take their children with them, kindly show them how to tension, fly kites, control altitude … When it gets dark, there are children who do not want to follow their parents to leave.
Not only is a children’s game, many young people also mingle with kites. “As soon as I got home from work, I followed my friends to fly a kite. It was difficult to play this game for the first time, so it was difficult to fly forever but the kite could not fly high,” said Uyen.
Along the embankment, many people take advantage of selling more kites and accessories. Each kite has from a few tens to hundreds of thousands of dong. “The kites here are crowded every day, but the busiest, especially on weekends and holidays, people come from all over the districts,” said the kite seller.
