Referring to Con Dao Tourism , tourists recite famous destinations such as Hang Duong cemetery, Con Dao museum, Con Dao prison, An Hai beach, Ong Dung forest … but Dam Tre Bay seems As forgotten, few people know although the natural landscape here is beautiful and majestic.
Why call Dam Tre Bay a mysterious destination?

Mysterious because there is no trail to get here. Although Dam Tre Bay is located very close to the Con Son airport (which the people familiar in Con Dao call Co Ong Airport), on the opposite side of Dam Trau , there are absolutely no directions to go. Even searching on google map does not have exact lines.
The best way is to go 2km from Co Ong airport towards the town, you will see a turn on the left hand side, you should ask the people for directions to avoid having to turn around. You will pass a bumpy dirt road leading to the beach. Since there are no trails, you’ll have to cross the sand to reach the foot of the mountain leading to the Bay. Riding on the sand, right next to the sea of waves, one side is the mountain, will definitely create a lot of excitement for those who once tried it. Going through the runway of Co Ong airport, you will reach the foot of the mountain starting. Here, you will have to take a short journey deep into the mountain to see the steps leading to the Bay.
How to get to Dam Tre Bay

Dam Tre Bay is about 17km north of the center of Con Son town. From Pier 914, moving towards Co Ong airport for about 12km, you will see a signboard on the right hand side of Dam Tre Bay 5km. Do not go into the right hand because of the dead end, also do not turn left through the airport but turn back a few dozen meters, on the left hand there is a red dirt trail leading down to Dong beach. From Dong beach, you go straight to the north sea.
Con Dao Dam Tre Bay can go during the day or stay overnight if you want. Overnight camping must notify the border guard station. The forest has much dry leaves, should not smoke or burn a fire, avoid causing forest fire.

Go all the way to the beach, look towards the forest and mountains on the left – where there is a small stream running to the sea, going a bit, you will see a trail that leads to Dam Tre Bay 3km more. The way to the bay is easy to go with a single trail. However, the road is quite desolate and desolate, and the scene is terrifyingly quiet. During your journey, at times you will meet a group of howling monkeys rushing to declare their territory. At that time, stay calm and don’t make any acts of anger.

The route to Dam Tre bay is not on the map. Therefore, you need to ask local people for specific instructions or ask the soldiers to guide you. Before going, you should check the ebb and flow of the tide. You have to wait for the tide to recede and go and return, if you do not check carefully, many sections of the coast are inundated by sea level rise.
The weather here is quite hot, especially if you go at noon when the tide is low, the forest is very hot, hot and will make you lose your energy, you should wear lightly, long-sleeved shirts to avoid the sun and heat. You should go in groups to have more fun experiences, avoid going alone into the dangerous forest. When traveling, bring water and snacks.

You need a day to go and to Dam Tre Bay. It was very desolate and there were no shops. Therefore, you need to prepare food and water to bring. It is best that early in the morning you go to Con Dao market to buy chicken, fish, squid, shrimp, bread, drinks, things you love to eat, don’t forget to buy more grills, charcoal and lighters. In the Bay, cooking is available on the rocky beach, so you will have an enjoyable barbecue and camping on the romantic beach. Just imagine, you tear a piece of grilled chicken, eat fish, grilled shrimp with bold taste of the sea, beside the beautiful and peaceful bay view, it will definitely be the most delicious and unforgettable lunch in my “shifting” life.

It is important that you apply for a permit at the Con Dao National Park Management Board before coming to the bay. This is an essential “ticket” to guarantee your visit. Due to having to cross the sand, you need to preview the tide schedule, because if the water rises, there will be no boats for you to paddle and your travel and return is impossible.

The road leading to Dam Tre Bay is a mountain pass, crossing the forest. The mountain crossing is not too difficult because there are steps leading to the top and down to the bay. Your job is to walk on the mossy steps covered with dry leaves in the middle of the primeval forest. The space will give you a peaceful, fairytale-colored scene. You will have maximum exposure to nature, plants and animals. It is also possible that along the way you will meet colorful squirrels, sometimes even snakes, but just calm down, do not panic, they will quickly disappear before your eyes.

Con Dao Dam Tre Bay is surrounded by rocky mountains, creating a very beautiful and romantic scene. In addition, this is considered a mysterious destination, so the number of visitors is not much. Even on weekends you will feel deserted, as if the bay, the sea are just yourself. You will feel owned and completely lived in nature.

Here, there is no sandy beach, instead a stretch of rock. When the water recedes, there will appear many beautiful and fancy small rocks that are difficult for any beach to have. At low tide, you can go to the sea to see snails, do not take them back or do anything because this place in the sanctuary has very strict control. Dam Tre bay has many types of snails, snails, palm snails, cone snails … many kinds of fancy colors, creating a very unique and magical beauty for the sea. When the sea is dry, it is sunny, you will see the monkeys in the mountains go down to the bay to catch snails. They will walk around the rock, searching for snails stuck in the rocks as well as professional snail catchers. Only the monkeys have the “privilege” of catching snails here.

If you are good at diving, check the tide schedule and bring your swimwear, swimming goggles, and snorkel. (If you are not really good, don’t risk your life because there are no rescuers here) Sprint, you can swim to the middle of the bay to watch the coral. Although the corals in Dam Tre Bay are not as beautiful as those in Hon Bay Canh (in Con Dao), you will surely admire the nature for creating giant coral flowers and you will have a discovery. the seabed is full of eyes.

Dam Tre Bay is one of the big nesting places in Con Dao. Here, there are swift caves, swiftlet houses always welcome you to visit the nesting process. The rocky mountain “home” of the swiftlets has a pretty nice shape enough for you to have special “virtual life” pictures that you rarely see throughout Vietnam.

Dam Tre Bay is just a small bay, there is a garrison on the bay. The scenery here is very beautiful, quiet and wild.
