KON TUM – Mang Den has cool air, with vast valleys and pine forests at an altitude of 1,200 m.

A corner of Mang Den town early in the morning. This town has National Highway 24 going through, located about 50 km northeast of Kon Tum city and about 140 km southwest of Quang Ngai city.

Coming to Mang Den, visitors can experience the feeling of swaying through the passes, panoramic view of valleys and misty cloudy sky on the mountain top. You can walk through the roads with pine trees on the side of the road – the scenery that makes Mang Den like “the second Dalat”. A motorbike is rented out of 150,000 VND per day.

Kon Pring Community-Tourism Cultural Village, Dak Long Commune, is one of the four community-based cultural and tourism villages of Kon Plong district. The village is located along Highway 24, 3 km east of the district capital, mainly Ka Dong people.

This place gradually forms a community tourism village. The story gathered under the roof of the Rong house, immersed in the wine glaze of wine, recuperated in the singing of highland girls, inspired by the deep, blunt gongs, but hard like the people of the Central Highlands.

Horse cart tourism is a newly developed service in Mang Den. The price for an hour ride around town is 100,000 VND per person, the car can carry 5 people.

Visit the meadow on horseback for 500,000 VND per hour.

A waterfall in the forest deep 12 km from the town center remains pristine.

5 km from the town center, you are like lost in the colorful flower garden of Ed Ban Farm, taking pictures freely for yourself and your family. More than 10 years ago, many investors came to Mang Den to build and develop tourism, but this place received a small number of tourists. Nearly two years ago, Mang Den tourism projects were restarted, many hotels and resorts were developed.

Another interesting stop is Khanh Lam Pagoda built on a primitive hill, over 1,200 m high. From the foot of the hill, following the front three-door gate, visitors step through more than 200 stone steps to the pagoda. This sacred place is hidden under the luxuriant forest canopy, creating a peaceful and pure beauty that captivates people’s hearts.

To Mang Den, visitors also enjoy blue rice and grilled chicken – a famous specialty of the region. This is a dish recorded in the list of 50 delicious dishes to try in the Guinness book of Vietnam records. Meat is seasoned with spices from some species of roots, leaves, honey and Kon Tum forest trees, so grilled chicken has a special flavor. When enjoying, you should add salt, pepper or large salt with spicy peppers or leaves – a sweet forest leaf with a greasy taste. Photo: Tieu Phong

Mang Den has a fresh climate, cool all year round, so sturgeon here is sweeter than other regions. Guests can ask the restaurant to make grilled sturgeon dishes, hot pot or any other appetizing dish.

Another famous specialty is black chicken stewed with ginseng, priced at about 300,000 VND per pot.

Tourists should bring backpack to Mang Den to explore and learn in their own way. Traveling and camping will bring unique and memorable experiences.
