When should I take the high-speed train to Phu Quoc?
The calmest and most beautiful sea season in Phu Quoc Island is from October to March of the following year, when the sea is calm, the waves are mild, it gets less rain and beautiful sunshine. Any boat cannot go out to sea.

There are 2 berths to be able to board the high-speed train to Phu Quoc: Rach Gia wharf and Ha Tien wharf in Kien Giang province. Depending on where you are from, you can choose a pier that is closer and more suitable. From Ha Tien to Phu Quoc the train runs about 1 hour and 15 minutes with a distance of 45km on the sea, from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc by high-speed train about 2 hours 45 minutes with a distance of about 120km by sea. Before that we bought a flight ticket from Hanoi to Can Tho, then took a bus from Can Tho to Ha Tien and took a high-speed train from here to “Ngoc Island” Phu Quoc.

Day 1: Fly from Hanoi to Can Tho, flight 7:00 am, 9:15 am, land at Can Tho airport, take advantage of sightseeing, go to Cai Rang floating market, Ninh Kieu wharf to rent a boat to explore. Then go to eat the famous sauce hot pot of this land, 15pm to the bus station to take the bus to Ha Tien with about 200km, the car takes about 6 hours.

Day 2: Get up early to have breakfast, the group 7am walk from the hotel to the pier, board the Superdong train to move to Phu Quoc Island, 9:30 the ship dock, board the bus at the port to the center of Duong Dong town, check in hotel has reserved. Check in, have lunch at the restaurant near the hotel and rest 2pm, start exploring Dinh Cau, afternoon bathing at Bai Truong. This beach is quite empty, near the town so the water is not really green and beautiful.

At night, going to Phu Quoc night market, in general, this night market is quite similar to the night markets in other famous tourist areas, if you have free time you can go sightseeing, watching is also quite interesting.

On the 4th day, the group was planning to hire a boat to visit small islands such as Thom island and May Rut island, but that day the sea was rough, the waves were quite large so we could not go to sea, so we decided to roam for 1 day. motorbikes around town and some cafes in Duong Dong town. Walking the beach at night is quite cool, finding cafes with an overhead view is also very interesting to meet and chat with friends from all over the world.

Day 5: From the night before, we bought a high-speed train ticket from Phu Quoc back to Ha Tien for the early morning trip of the next day. After having breakfast with Phu Quoc noodle dish, we quickly went back to the mainland by train. The bullet train has 2 floors, there is a water counter on the top of the train and passengers can admire the whole journey. However, it was very sunny and windy up there, so we could only sit a little to take pictures and get off the seats in the train. The experience of going to Phu Quoc by speedboat is that if you are seasick, you must buy anti-sickness medicine and should not move to the deck position for too long. At 9:30 we were in Ha Tien, because we wanted to check in at Xa Xa border gate bordering Cambodia so we called a taxi, the distance from the pier to the border gate was only about 6km.

Here you can make a passport to visit Cambodia within the vicinity of the border, but we just decided to stop to check in at Xa Xa only because in the afternoon we have to return to Ha Tien to catch a bus. Back to Can Tho. Taking photos for a while, we left and boarded the bed bus to Can Tho for the noon trip. In the evening of the same day, we stayed in Can Tho, walked around the city, rested after days of drunkenness with the waves to stay healthy and flew back to Hanoi the next morning.
