The story of Tien La Temple is still passed down to this day about an outstanding female general named Vu Thi Thuc, also commonly known as Thuc Nuong. She was born into a family working as medicine dispensers, healers, and grew up to be a girl who is not only beautiful, but also beautiful, martial arts, but full of compassion and love for the people.
At the age of 18, Thu Nuong was engaged to the district’s chief son, Pham Danh Huong. Before the wedding day, Thuc Nuong was forced to marry him by To Dinh’s soldiers – at that time a Thai official from the northern feudalism. Tô Định was known for being a man who was greedy for money and possessions, and was very keen and cruel. Thuc Nuong was determined not to surrender, so To Dinh tried to kill Father Thuc Nuong and Pham Danh Huong and tried to hunt for her back. 
History of Tien La Temple
Knowing that, Thuc Nuong was helped by the villagers to escape, find a way to the riverbank, rowed for a few days, to reach Da Cuong land, to go to Tien La temple to rely on the Buddha’s door. Here, she recruited soldiers to revolt against the invaders of the North with four golden words “Bat Can General” to avenge her father and innocent people.
Since then, the insurgency led by her has grown stronger, and at the same time, when she heard that Hai Ba Trung was uprising in Hoc Mon, Thu Nuong immediately joined forces with Hai Ba Trung to defeat the enemy. Thuc Nuong was appointed as Dong Nhung General Quan. At that moment, the Han dynasty sent Ma Vien to retake our country again. The enemy was strong and weak. By the end of the year 43, our insurgent army had failed badly, Hai Ba Trung sacrificed heroically. Thuc Nuong and the insurgents retreated to entrenched Tien La. But defeated and forced to the end, on March 17, 43, she withdrew her sword to self-confess at Kim Quy mound on Tien Hung river. The people mournfully set up a temple to commemorate her merits.

Built on Kim Quy hill with an area of more than 6,000 square meters, Tien La Temple has the structure of “first money – posterior” in the old style from columns, trusses to curved dome shaped like a flying dragon. The temple has three main palaces: Dai Bai (Tien Te), Trung Te and Hau Dien. The palaces of the street or the upper house are built of quartet wood, elaborately engraved with the figures of dragon – unicorn – quy – phoenix, alternating with the figures of pine – bamboo – chrysanthemum – mai.
