According to Ms. Vuon, apart from her family nowadays, only a few households are still growing this pomelo variety in the commune. Private garden of her family’s grapefruit is an area of over 700 m ² with more than 30 original grapefruit (including red grapefruit peel and yellow peel) are decades old.

Each grapefruit here has a “super big” size (weighing an average of 5kg or more) and the price ranges from 500,000 VND to million VND per fruit, depending on weight and form. Mrs. Vuon said that it is not too difficult to grow this grapefruit variety, but in order to produce productivity, the family takes great care to prevent the plant from waterlogging, especially this grapefruit variety is very fragrant, so it will attract golden flies. 2-3 layers of cloth must be covered to avoid the bite of yellow flies, causing grapefruit to be damaged or fallen.

In addition to the typical yellow pomelo variety, her garden also grows red-peel pomelo which also gives high economic value, even many people love it on Tet occasion because of its red color, fragrant.

Unlike yellow-peeled grapefruit, red-peeled grapefruit must be wrapped in a white plastic bag, because in order to have such a shiny red color, it is necessary to absorb sunlight, in addition, to open the bag once daily for ventilation, moisture, water of the bag when wrapped.

The area of pomelo cultivation in the commune is being narrowed much due to the construction and urbanization process, so now only a few households grow in their home gardens.
