At 4:00 a.m. on the last day of November 2020, Huy and four other friends were traveling in hand-wheeled cars toward Dong Do Lake (Minh Tri, Soc Son district, Hanoi). It is cold, foggy, and dim in winter. The group moved in the hope of watching the sunrise in a place where there was no dust and noise in the capital.
The first time going out together, full of new faces when the group “The Honeycomb” was just established, 5 boys decided to choose Dong Do clock (in Minh Tri commune, Soc Son district, about to the center of Hanoi city. 45km) as an experience venue.
Huy said, the group wanted to go to a place not too far from Hanoi but with a beautiful and peaceful landscape to “regenerate” energy and be in harmony with nature.
After nearly 1 hour of driving, Huy and his group of friends were present at Dong Do clock. The immense space here makes Huy really impressed. The pine forests are immensely green, the lake is clear, fish and shrimp can be seen swimming underwater.Previously, the lake bed was just a small stream. By 2000, the Dong Do dam was built and completed to provide irrigation water for about 200 ha of cultivated land in Minh Tri commune. The lake is located in the valley, flanked by pine forests over 30 years old – where visitors can go camping, participate in outdoor exploration activities.“Put the phone down and enjoy the wonderful things of nature” – the members agreed on the purpose of the trip. Therefore, at the destination, the group does not use the phone. The members actively arrange the work so that they will not be affected, have plenty of time to talk and fully enjoy the wonderful natural scenery at Dong Do Lake. Not to mention, there is also no phone signal or wifi here.Because this place is a new discovery place, it still remains peaceful and quiet. Huy’s group set up a tent, set up a table and prepared “gear” for the meal. In addition to cup shrimp noodles, fruit cakes, drinking water brought from home, the group also gathered firewood, lit a fire to boil eggs, baked potatoes.Items that seemed to only exist in memory have reappeared, recycled to protect the environment, and made luggage to follow Huy and his friends to Dong Do clock such as kettles, iron pots, mugs. ..Most notably, the “grandparents’ period” iron box has been refurbished by a member of the group, which can both hold furniture for the trip and help preserve ice very conveniently. “The old chest is associated with the childhood of many people, contains special memories. It also expresses our own creativity, style and sends dreams and ambitions about trips. For me, it’s the most special thing, “Huy said.With the necessary items, the group gathered around the fire, roasting potatoes while sipping a freshly brewed cup of coffee, enjoying the fresh and pleasant air amid the romantic scenery.The lake area next to the pine forest has shallow water sections, if you want, you can bathe, swim as much as you want or rent more buoys to ensure safety.At 5 pm, after cleaning the campsite area, taking water to extinguish the fire, the group departed back to Hanoi. Huy also sends a message to visitors who intend to come here to “run away from deadlines” that, remember to preserve the natural landscape, not litter indiscriminately and ensure careful fire extinguishment before leaving.
Although the time is less than 1 day, the fresh and peaceful space in the mountains and forests of Dong Do lake is enough for Huy’s group to recharge, restarting the spirit for a new working week. This place promises to be an attractive destination for those who want to find a peaceful place away from the smog of the city.
