The followers of “cloud hunting” are familiar with Lao Cai in Lao Cai, Ta Xua in Son La or Cau Dat tea hill in Da Lat. But there is a very new name, joining the “club” of a unique cloud hunting place, which is Hang Kia (Hoa Binh).

Heaven is not for the late riser

It’s been a long time since I woke up early, I got out of bed when it was still dark, with a little light from the porch light of the backyard house. In my pocket with two cameras, grabbing a jacket that smells damp for a long time, I jumped on my old motorbike.

It was quite cold, the quilted coat still could not warm the body. I rushed out into the dark, and every now and then I caught a few older uncles exercising early. When I got to Highway 6, I went faster and felt colder.

Driving the car for about 20 minutes, it started to rain, I clicked my tongue to continue, just worried about heavy rain, the camera would get wet. Fortunately, only a few minutes later, the sky stopped. I turned to Pa Co market (Mai Chau, Hoa Binh), the sky was clear. I climb a steep, slippery concrete slope, continue across a narrow, winding path along the mountain, dull mist.

I think there should be no one this early, because last time I was away. However, more than I thought, dozens of cars, hundreds of motorbikes parked in rows on the entrance to Hang Kia cloud viewing spot. Well, I suddenly remembered that today is Sunday! This time around 6am, I stepped up and down and chose a place for myself. Today’s clouds are beautiful, white, and spongy like cotton candy.

Sea of clouds floating in the eye

I have had the opportunity to watch clouds in Lao Tham and Ta Xua, but this time with Hang Kia it is still a completely new feeling. Getting up early, going through the cold highlands, to see white clouds floating under your feet, is really worth it.

I dragged the camera to shoot continuously. There are quite a lot of people today, so we have to set up and choose the corner quite carefully. H’mong people have built a few wooden floors with balustrades so that visitors can stand on them to see the panorama more clearly and that is also the place where people take non-photoshop photos.

Clouds are thick and thin, classy. Sometimes clouds come down from above, not see anything, but only a moment disappears, exposing the thick sea of clouds in the valley.

I climbed into a leaf hut, trying to order a cup of coffee but remembered that I haven’t eaten breakfast yet. The sun had risen, the clouds were gradually thinning, the flow of people started to leave. I still sat there, looking at the mountains, looking at the clouds and looking at people!
