HANOI – As soon as the city allowed outdoor activities, many groups of friends and families with young children went to Ham Lon lake, Vinh Tuy bridge lawn, Ba Vi … picnic.

Immediately after the Hanoi People’s Committee eased the distance on September 28, the group of 5 of Mr. Chu Duc Viet (34 years old, Tay Ho district) drove about 30 km to the camping site on a hill near Ham Lon lake. Nam Son commune, Soc Son district. He chose this camping area because it is right in the city, has beautiful scenery, cool weather, and is close to nature. On weekends, this place is expected to be crowded with people camping, so he went on a weekday. The group also meets a number of other people, but the campsite is far apart and the groups do not communicate.

“Excellent” is Mr. Viet’s description of the trip after 2 months at home because of the distance. He said camping is meeting friends after many days, breathing in the fresh air, cooking, listening to music, to relax and relieve the feeling of cramped, crazy feet. The group has tents, tables, and chairs available, so it only costs about buying food and gasoline, about 400,000 VND/person.

Also coming to Ham Lon lake on September 28, Mai Son’s group (Ba Dinh district) chose a camp located near the lake. Here, the group has to pay a fee of 50,000 VND/person for business households. The group set up a tent, grilled food, gathered to talk and stayed overnight, then cleaned up the trash and returned to the city center.

Son is a person who loves to move, so he feels very secretive when he has to stay at home for the past 2 months. Although this trip was short, it made the group feel more comfortable. Everyone is always concerned about safety and prevention of Covid-19 so do not gather more than 10 people. Sharing about the reason to go camping right away without waiting, Mr. Son said: “When the government issues regulations, they need to be followed, but when allowed to return, everyone has the right to go because relaxation is also a need”.

Mr. Viet and Mr. Son both said that on the way from the city center to the camp site, there were no difficulties or Covid-19 safety checks. Ham Lon Lake is near Hanoi, the road is convenient for both motorbikes and cars and has a beautiful landscape, suitable for camping. However, both note that here will be very crowded on weekends, which may violate the regulations on distance, so families and camping groups can consider the time or choose other destinations such as Ba Vi. , with a manager should limit the number of people.

Wishing his family could have a place to comfortably breathe fresh air, Mr. Phung Hiep (38 years old), director of a travel agency in Hanoi, took his wife and children to Suoi Hai Lake (Ba Vi) to camp. during the day by private car. He shared that this area is very large, especially when no one comes, there is a lake and lawn to rest, so it is very safe. Because his family lives in an apartment building in the Ha Dong district, everyone has felt a sense of mystery in the past 2 months, especially girls.

Also wishing for their children to unleash their energy, Hien Anh’s family chose a camping spot near her house, at the alluvial ground at the foot of Vinh Tuy bridge (in Long Bien ward). Her family consists of 4 adults and 3 children who come here from 7 pm to enjoy the open air, have a meal, drink coffee and return home at 11 pm. She shared that after 2 months of separation, the grass here grows very high, so the children have more experience of catching locusts and grasshoppers.

“After the distance is over, the first thing my family thinks about is a camping trip to relax, rest and enjoy nature. Especially because there are children, they really need to be free to explore and relax. At present, the epidemic has been basically controlled, but my family still adheres to safety measures and limits meeting with strangers,” she said.

Not only Ms. Hien Anh’s family, but many other families with young children have also camped and picnicked at campsites near the Red River or Ba Vi. Mr. Nguyen Manh, manager of the camp at An Duong beach (Ba Dinh District), said that there were many interested guests, making reservations on the day Hanoi allowed outdoor activities. However, to ensure safety against the epidemic and privacy, he only accepts 1-2 groups of guests per week and will reopen from this weekend. It also requires the group of just under 10 people and people over 18 years old to have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The entrance fee is 50,000 VND/adult (overnight 100,000 VND) and 30,000 VND/child, campers can prepare their own things or rent them at the beach. Mr. Manh shared that camping and picnics are very suitable activities to relieve the mind after stressful days and are in line with tourism trends during Covid-19. However, families must especially adhere to the distance to protect the city’s anti-epidemic results, not to places that are expected to be crowded, in addition, to pay attention to dangers that may come from nature. such as rivers, streams, ponds, and insects, and reptiles.
