Tens of thousands of people go to see wild sunflowers, camp in Ba Vi National Park, resorts, yachts near Hanoi… all rooms are full.

Ms. Huong Giang (Ha Dong district, Hanoi) and her family went to Ba Vi National Park, Ba Vi district to camp and watch the wild sunflower season, November 28. Around 10 o’clock when her house was almost there, the road to the national park was blocked, the traffic was large, moving slowly because many cars stopped on the side of the road to see and take pictures of flowers. Traffic coordinators must be present to request the vehicles to move.

Camping at site 400 at noon, Ms. Giang shared that there is a “sea of people” here and many tents with loud music playing, so it is difficult for the family to experience the atmosphere and really rest. The tents are actively keeping a distance of at least 5 meters from each other, but many people do not wear masks. Around 13-14h, many people unload the camp to leave, so it’s not too crowded, but leaves a lot of garbage.

Taking two groups of nearly 40 people to camp in Ba Vi National Park a day earlier, Mr. Nguyen Duy said he had a similar situation when it was very crowded at noon and it was difficult to stop the car to take pictures of wild sunflowers. . Duy’s group of guests camped at pole 400 overnight, the next morning had to take pictures of flowers early to “dodge” people.

Anh Duy shared, wild sunflowers in the national park are blooming and beautiful, stretching for kilometers from the gate to the top. From the beginning of November, more than 10 groups of guests have booked tent services and food to come here to camp. They mainly go on weekends, because they have to go to work during the week. He shared, going camping at the weekend cannot avoid the crowded situation, but many people do not want to miss the flower season, so they still decide to come here. In the afternoon and evening, the remaining camps were very few, so the group had space to hold a barbecue, gather to enjoy the atmosphere.

A representative of the Center for Environmental Education and Service of Ba Vi National Park said that since the beginning of November, the garden has welcomed more than 25,000 visitors, mainly on weekends. This year’s wildflower season, visitors come here are crowded, but still much less than the same period in 2020 (65,000 visitors) and 2019 when there was no Covid-19 epidemic (80,000 visitors). However, because the road is small, only 2 lanes, so when crowded, there will be congestion.

Ba Vi National Park’s leadership has mobilized forces to coordinate traffic, guide, patrol and remind tourists to comply with safety regulations when visiting and having picnics. Visitors coming here must make a medical declaration and keep a distance between groups. Visitors from outside the province need to have a negative result for nCoV according to the rapid test method.

Not only Ba Vi, camping sites near Hanoi, isolated resorts in Soc Son, Hoa Binh, Ha Long Bay cruises… also recorded a weekend of room occupancy. Most of the guests come from Hanoi.

Mr. Pham Ha, Chairman of Lux Group, said that right after Quang Ninh was allowed to welcome guests in the golden area, many Hanoians booked resort and sightseeing services on yachts. On November 28, an international delegation in Vietnam including 30 people experienced the Emperor Legacy Ha Long cruise. On December 4, the cruise ship was almost full.

Avana Retreat (Hoa Binh) Resort is fully booked on weekends until the end of December and New Year’s Eve. Sundays and Mondays are also nearly full. According to the resort’s representative, many people who couldn’t book for the weekend have accepted to go on a weekday vacation, so the weekdays in December are also gradually filling up.

Nguyen Duc Viet, CEO of WE Travel, which specializes in booking resorts and travel combos, said other popular resorts near Hanoi such as Serena Resort Kim Boi, Mai Chau Ecolodge, Bakhan Resort Mai Chau in Hanoi. Hoa Binh and Melia Ba Vi (Ba Vi), Tomodachi Village Jackfruit (Son Tay) in Hanoi are also always full on weekends since Hanoi ended social distancing, at the end of September. Currently, agents have room funds. There are only very few available.

According to Mr. Viet’s assessment, this is a forecasted tourism trend. After a long time unable to travel due to Covid-19, Hanoi tourists are being “compressed” in tourism demand. So when the city reopens, they prioritize short trips, mainly on weekends with relatives and friends to isolated, private and beautiful places.
