A tourism promotion campaign running with the theme of “Hello Ho Chi Minh City” has debuted in an effort to advertise the southern metropolis as a safe, lively, and friendly destination for travelers, according to the local Department of Tourism.

The campaign, scheduled to run from October to January 2021, will consist of two stages.

During the promotion’s initial stage, a viral clip will be released involving the participation of H’Hen Nie, a Top 5 finisher at Miss Universe 2018, along with many other celebrities, whilst featuring new and unique aspects of Ho Chi Minh City.

Two songs titled “Hello Ho Chi Minh City” and “Tôi yêu bánh mì Sài Gòn”, (I love Sai Gon bread), will be released, aimed at popularizing the street-food sandwich which entered the Oxford English Dictionary five years ago amid modern melodies in an effort to excite residents and tourists.

Moreover, a photo collection of the local landscape, culture, and daily lives of citizens of Ho Chi Minh City will appear on postcards, attracting the attention of many people.

A show of Ao Dai, a traditional Vietnamese long dress, is slated to be held on October 9, whilst a signing ceremony on safe and attractive tourism co-operation between Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region is scheduled to take place in November this year.

During the second stage of the campaign in November, local authorities will hold tourism promotion for international organisations in which the southern city is a member of, such as the Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) and the Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

It is anticipated that “Hello Ho Chi Minh City” will be part of the tourism department’s strategy up to 2025, with a further vision towards 2030.
