Passionate about fashion design, Dinh Thi Tuyet (23 years old, Quang Chau ward, Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa province) turns old clothes into unique products.
After graduating from high school, Dinh Thi Tuyet (in Kieu Dai street, Quang Chau ward, Sam Son city) chose to pursue her passion for the garment industry. Without going to university, the young girl chose to take a fashion design training class in Hanoi city to start a career.
After finishing the training course, Dinh Thi Tuyet returned to her hometown and took advantage of her family’s room to open a tailoring shop.
By chance, once seeing unique products recycled from old clothes, Dinh Thi Tuyet had the idea to start her work by producing items such as bags, dresses…
At first, she took advantage of her old pants and shirts and drew and designed her own handbags and backpacks.
Tuyet said that after her first products were completed, she shared them on social networks and received many compliments and orders. Many guests from remote provinces and cities such as Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Can Tho, Hanoi… sent old jeans to ask her to process and recycle into handbags and dresses.
“I’ve only been doing it for more than 3 months but the results are beyond expectations. Every month I receive about 40 orders. Most of the products are recycled from old jeans, they order them to make handbags,” Tuyet shared.
The recycled dress from old jeans has just been completed by Tuyet. The young girl shared that in addition to earning extra income, recycling old clothes also contributes to minimizing environmental pollution and minimizing waste in the garment industry.
In the process of recycling old clothes, Tuyet often uses her phone to record the work steps, then makes a video and posts it on social networking platforms. Thanks to that, Tuyet receives more and more orders every day.
During the past 3 months, in the small room at home, Tuyet made friends with needles, threads, and sewing machines every day. The young girl confided that although the work is not difficult, it requires creativity to create eye-catching products that are loved by many people.
“On average a day I can make 3-4 products. For each product I recycle with a salary of 100,000-150,000 VND. In the coming time, I will focus on designing handbags with diverse designs. more to make a difference and attract more orders,” Tuyet shared.
