THUA THIEN – HUE Cua Hien Nhon, Quoc Hoc stele, Thien Mu pagoda … appeared on the runways of runners at Hue Marathon, on the morning of December 27.
One day after the Hue Marathon VnExpress, many runners said they still remember the feeling of running on beautiful roads with many trees and historical sites. In particular, most athletes said they loved the starting point before Phu Van Lau (Le Duan) – located in front of Hue Citadel, opposite Nghinh Luong Dinh, nestled on the romantic Perfume River, contributing to adorn the the ancient and quiet beauty of the ancient capital.
Phu Van Lau was built in 1819 under the reign of King Gia Long. This is where in the past the Nguyen Dynasty listed important edicts of the king and court, and the results of examinations. This is also the point where battles between elephants and tigers took place to entertain the king. Along with Nghenh Luong Dinh, Phu Van Lau are two typical Nguyen dynasty architectural works selected to be printed on 50,000 VND bill.
Runner four distances 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, 42 km have the opportunity to run across Truong Tien Bridge at dawn. The work is considered the symbol and center of the ancient capital, connecting the two banks of the South and the North. Truong Tien was completed in 1899 under the reign of King Thanh Thai, about 400 meters long from two abutments, the bridge bridge is 6 meters wide. Six beats and 12 couple together into 6 pairs. Many Hue people believe that it is not simply reinforced cement, the civet has turned into Hue’s soul.
Runner all four distances have many beautiful moments in front of Quoc Hoc stele (also known as the Memorial of the Dead, located on Le Loi Street). In front of the stele, facing the Quoc Hoc specialized school , on the left-hand side is Hai Ba Trung High School (formerly Dong Khanh School), behind the Huong River . Works built-in 1920, have architectural artistic value. Today Quoc Hoc beer is the place to hold many great cultural and artistic events, including the programs of the Hue Festival festival.
Runner section 10 km through Cua Kho gate – located to the south to the left of Ky Dai, dating back to 1804, opened at the same time when Hue Citadel was built, occupying an important position in serving the king and the court.
Many runners talk in love at the dreamlike corners of the Hien Nhon Gate on the 10km road early in the morning.
Hien Nhon Gate (or Mieu Mon) is the entrance to the shrine area – the most impressive gate. Hien Nhon Gate is located in the East of Hoang Thanh, on “Phuong bay” Doan Thi Diem, built in 1805, under the reign of King Gia Long. In 1833, King Minh Mang added and grafted pieces of china and stone in front of them. Only mandarins and royal men were allowed to enter and exit the Imperial City through this gate
Runner enjoying the fresh and green air on Doan Thi Diem Street (along the left bank of Dai Noi City). This road is famous for many green trees, wide spreading canopy, often called “Phuong bay” by Hue people – appeared in the song ” Rain of the Soul” by the late musician Trinh Cong Son: “The road of phoenix flying without entrance. The rows of green trees are close together … “.
The runners do not put a lot of achievements, just like to experience the beautiful run that stops Hue Citadel (Dai Noi) – a place to store historical values of the Nguyen Dynasty – take souvenir photos.
Ms. Yen Nhi (Hanoi) said she would take the time to visit, check-in the Ngo Mon gate, Ngu Phung floor, Ky Dai, the red corridor painted with gold paint … Vietnam’s first cultural heritage was inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1993.
The runners with distance 21 km and 42 km run through Thien Mu Pagoda – one of the oldest religious sites and attract tourists in Hue – at dawn. The project is located on Ha Khe hill, left bank of Huong river, started in Tan Suu year (1601). The most prominent is Phuoc Duyen tower with a height of 21 m, including 7 floors, each floor is worshiping Buddha statue. Currently, the pagoda preserves the antiques left by King Nguyen such as bronze Buddha statue, Hoanh phi painting with golden lipstick, the car of Thich Quang Duc bodhisattva …
At Van Thanh Street, the runner turns to Nguyen Phuc Nguyen, continues to run through Thien Mu Pagoda. In front of the pagoda is the Perfume River, many green trees pour cool shadows into the clear blue water.
The finish line of all four distances Marathon Hue is located along Le Duan Street, close to the intersection of Quang Duc. This road is considered the lifeblood of Hue city, with dense traffic density, marking a series of ancient trees. To ensure a safe runner on the running track, leaders of all levels of Thua Thien Hue province coordinate to stop the flow of vehicles on many routes, including completely blocking Le Duan street (before Phu Van Lau – Nghinh Luong Dinh).
