LAI CHAU – Coming to Sin Suoi Ho, visitors can learn about the cultural life of the Mong people, spend time relaxing, temporarily away from the noisy town.

Having had the opportunity to experience many tourist spots inside and outside the province, but whenever I mention Sin Suoi Ho community tourism, I always have a special love for this land. At 6 am, from Lai Chau city, we passed the winding roads to reach Sin Suoi Ho village. On both sides of the road, the wild fields were in full bloom.

Nearly 40 minutes later, we were at the village, the first stop of the group was the fair. People go to the market as crowded as a reunion. Girls and boys in traditional costumes from the crossroads to the market are more adorned for this colorful space.

The market is held every Saturday morning, selling many highland forest specialties such as honey, dried bamboo shoots, wood ear, upland sticky rice or simply a bunch of wild vegetables still wet with night dew. There are also dresses, shirts, towels … handmade products made by mothers and mothers. You can buy or rent an ethnic costume to take souvenir photos, buy scarves, bags, hats as gifts.

Arriving at Sin Suoi Ho market, I did not see the negotiation and bargaining. The seller only sells one price and does not change, although no one buys the item until the end of the market, vegetables and fruits wither will not lower the price.

After visiting the market, according to the village chief, we choose the black pig noodle shop inside the market to have breakfast. A bowl of fragrant noodle with rosemary flavor combined with Ban Pig meat and hoof, is processed by the owner according to traditional Mong pho.

Although not too eye-catching, the first piece made us like it immediately … The hoof is simmered by the wood stove, not too carefully, the meat has thick and thin pieces, the thicker the pieces, the more sweet and fragrant …

After breakfast, we walked down the concrete paved streets, enjoying the aroma of orchids. Here, every house grows Cymbidium, about 100 pots in the family, more than 700 – 800 pots. There are pots that have popped first flowers to prepare for the Lunar New Year season of Tan Suu 2021.

Mr. Vang A Chinh, Head of Sin Suoi Ho village, said: “In recent years, Cymbidium has brought billions of dong in revenue to the villagers. Flowers are taken to the city, to Hanoi and other provinces.

Thanks to the promotion and introduction by local people on social networks, gradually there is Sin Suoi Ho brand name. The flower also creates a splendid landscape, supporting the growing tourism type of the village.

On the way, every now and then, we came across vegetable gardens meticulously planted by local people and named the owner. Sin Suoi Ho village is clean, every family makes livestock stables, no livestock and poultry are left unattended.

On the way, people made many trash baskets made of rattan and bamboo with the words “I ask for garbage” to preserve the landscape. In addition, an unforgettable impression to me is that the Mong people here are very hospitable, and every time they meet, they smile.

After lunch break, we followed the old mossy stone path to explore the Heart Waterfall. The majestic primeval forests, below are immense cardamom are in harvest … making us excited.

The bamboo bridges and benches designed by local people for visitors to rest or check-in are also beautiful. Just a moment, the Heart Waterfall appeared before my eyes, bringing each person in the delegation wonderful feelings about love of nature.

On the way back, we visited the “Bird’s Nest” houses. At sunset, this place is as beautiful as a water-color painting. With an area of about 7m2, the bird’s nest has a full and convenient personal space, has a heater and private wifi. Surrounding are the most beautiful orchid pots chosen by the people in the village.

At dinner, we eat dishes bearing bold identity and traditional flavors of the Northwest Mong people such as roasted pork with kale, wild pepper vegetables, honey roasted chicken, grilled pork, Steamed white fish, lemongrass bamboo shoots, banana flower salad, spring fish, squash soup … Food sources are also fresh, delicious, safe and available, assigned by the village chief to growers to provide provided to households opening homestay services.

The night of cultural exchanges at the village chief’s house helped us to feel more clearly the culture of the Mong people. I feel fidgety when the sound of the Mong flute soaring calls for you. Watching the footsteps of the Mong girl dragging her partner’s side in a burst of laughter, no one wanted to leave. Nearly 12 o’clock at night, we just rest. The friendly hands and eyes exchanged between the ethnic minorities and the members of the delegation are still lingering.

Sin Suoi Ho always has a strange attraction to visitors when coming to experience. I think anyone who has been here will never forget the love of the land and the love of this place.

If you have time, you can stay more to experience the life of the Mong ethnic people, explore and hunt clouds on the top of Bach Moc Luong Tu mountain – the third highest mountain in Vietnam, enjoy the panoramic view. Wildflowers valley, terraced fields stretching to the mountainside …
