THUA THIEN – HUE Traditional boat racing teams from 12 communes and wards of Hue city celebrate 47 years of liberation..
On the morning of March 19, Hue City held a traditional boat race to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2022). The race is also an opportunity to promote and promote the development of tourism, services, cuisine and commerce of this area in the coming time. The tournament brings together 12 racing teams from 12 communes and wards of Hue city to participate.
According to the race rules, the teams will compete in 12 degrees (test categories): 1 degree of worship, 10 degrees of money, and 1 degree of breaking called Thai Binh. In the money levels, men and women row the boat 2 rounds and 4 shuffles (turns). In the remaining 2 degrees, they rowed 3 laps and 6 shuffles.
Right from the beginning of the race, the rowers tried their best to compete fiercely.
Teams competed for 400 m, crossing the Huong River.
Teams competed for 500m on Dong Ba River in the cheers and cheers of thousands of locals and tourists.
From early morning, thousands of people in Hue city and tourists gathered on both banks of Dong Ba and Huong rivers to watch the race. Many old people also watch the rowers compete.
The racing boat of the Thuan An ward team sank on the Dong Ba river.
The male rowers of the Huong Vinh ward team proved to be superior to the racing teams when continuously leading.
According to the law, the racing teams must remove the roof diagonally in front of the Organizing Committee’s bladder to be considered the finish line after completing the race distance.
One of the rewards for the winning team is a pig.
Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Deputy Secretary of Thua Thien Hue province, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice President of the province, presented emulation flags and sentences to the following 3 teams:
First prize: Huong Vinh ward.
Second prize: An Dong ward.
Third prize: Phu Mau commune.
