The most famous attraction in Mui Ke Ga is Ke Ga lighthouse, which is also the most beautiful place to see the sea because it has the highest viewpoint and the most extensive. This lighthouse was built by the French to help ships pass here locate, coordinate and navigate easily. All construction materials for the lighthouse were transported by the French from France.
According to historical records, Ke Ga cape is an extremely dangerous position in the waters from Phan Rang to Vung Tau. Since centuries ago, many merchant ships have been wrecked here because they could not navigate. Therefore, in 2 years (1897 – 1899), the French studied and built the Ke Ga lighthouse to meet the transportation needs of the French army as well as foreign merchant ships. By 1900, Ke Ga lighthouse was put into use, on a tower with a large light bulb of 2,000W with a scanning radius of 22 nautical miles (equivalent to 40km).
Although at present, Ke Ga lighthouse no longer works because of the development of other marine navigation devices, but “this sea eye” is still a tourist destination., visit to attract tourists.
