PHU THO – Local people and tourists flock to the Van Lang Park area (Viet Tri City), standing in front of them waiting for hours to watch the fireworks, on the night of April 20.
From 20pm on April 20, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street – the main traffic axis of Viet Tri City, the section passing Van Lang Park is stuck with long congestion, vehicles connecting more than 4 km. This is the area where Phu Tho province held fireworks on the occasion of Hung Vuong’s death anniversary.
Many people climbed into cars and branches to observe the fireworks because the road was already crowded.
Hundreds of police soldiers were mobilized to stand along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to divide traffic flow.
At 9:30 a.m. the fireworks show just started, but thousands of people had already chosen locations to observe the fireworks and waited for hours before. In the dark, people sat packed inside Van Lang Park, where the fireworks battlefield was located.
The pedestrian bridge in Van Lang Park was completed in October 2019, becoming a fireworks display for the first time on the occasion of Hung Vuong’s death anniversary.
Many babies are tired of waiting for fireworks in a crowded space.
The fireworks display lasts for about 15 minutes. The organizers arranged more than 8,500 fireworks, of which 7,500 low-altitude fruits, 1,000 high-altitude ones.
The people cheered with the fireworks display. “Over the past year, an epidemic, many activities stalled, and festivals are not much, so today I bring my whole family here to see the fireworks and tomorrow to go to Hung Temple,” said Nguyen Van Quyet, a native of the district. On the night of April 20, Viet Tri City had a cool weather, mild wind, helping the smoke to fly quickly, people from all directions easily observed the fireworks fly.
The fireworks display ended, the roads around Van Lang Park were congested, many people stood still in the middle of the road. Until 11pm the means can travel normally.
