For many years, Khe Van has been considered one of the most attractive destinations in the highland district of Binh Lieu (Quang Ninh).
Located about 15 km from Binh Lieu (Binh Lieu District), in Huc Dong commune, the road to Khe Van waterfall is now convenient with a flat asphalt road taking tourists to the place.
On the journey from National Highway 18C to Khe Van waterfall, visitors can enjoy the beautiful space, walking on the winding road like a soft silk strip, next to the terraced fields in the ripe rice season, in the distance are the houses of Thai people. The Tay people are peaceful, with children running and playing.
In that scene, visitors will clearly feel the national colors and be immersed in the wild mountain and forest space of the border region .
The Van has 3 levels of waterfall, each level has a different shape and appearance. The first floor is a large, white stream of water flowing down from high cliffs to form a large lake.
The second level is when water flows down from above, meets rocks to form many layers, releasing white foam. The last floor below the population is where on hot days many tourists jump down to bathe in the cool water.
According to local people, Khe Van waterfall used to be the place where San Chi men and women met and sang Soong Co songs. These singing performances are usually held in the middle of the third lunar month every year.
Later, people also organized a festival, named March Singing Festival. On each occasion, the festival not only attracts San Chi people in Huc Dong, but also attracts a large number of men and women from the San Chi ethnic group in Dai Duc commune (Tien Yen) and surrounding areas to exchange and find love. At Khe Van waterfall, that day many couples became husband and wife.
If you have the opportunity to stop at Khe Van, do not forget to enjoy the “fragrance of the forest” with unique dishes prepared by local ethnic people such as grilled chicken, five-color sticky rice, stream fish
