SON LA – From now until the end of October, visitors can come admire and take photos of plum blossoms blooming out of season in Na Ka Plum Valley, Moc Chau district.

About 180 km from Hanoi, Moc Chau district (Son La) has about 1,300 hectares of plums. From late January to mid-February every year is the plum blossom season, attracting tourists from all over to sightsee, take photos and camp, according to the Moc Chau district electronic information portal.

However, this year, from around mid-October, the plum trees in Na Ka plum valley in Moc Chau have flowered. Na Ka plum valley is one of two valleys with the largest plum growing area in the district, along with Mu Nau plum valley.

In recent years, plum blossoms often bloom out of season, partly due to climate change, partly because people use some additional measures to stimulate the flowers to bloom early, attracting tourists to take photos, Mr. Trang said. A Dua, owner of a plum garden in Na Ka valley, said. It is expected that the off-season plum blossom season will last until the end of October.

Plum blossoms still bloom in large numbers, but the flowers do not bloom as large and thick as during the season.

On October 20, Vu Quang Kien (28 years old), a resident of Moc Chau, bought a ticket to the garden for 30,000 VND per person and brought tables, chairs, and a tent to set up camp with friends in the garden to watch plum blossoms.

Plum blossoms begin to bloom around October 16, but there are not yet as many tourists coming to take photos as during the season. “Thanks to that, we can enjoy the quiet and have plenty of time to relax amid the pure white of the off-season plum garden,” he said.

On October 18, Nguyen Ngoc Anh (22 years old, Vinh Phuc), also took the opportunity to go to the valley to take photos when she had a short time working at a homestay in Moc Chau.

This was the first time Anh admired the beauty of pure white plum flower petals. The amount of flowers blooming is not high, there are still many buds on the branches. “Maybe in the next week or two the flowers will bloom more and more beautifully,” she said.

The appropriate time of day to visit Na Ka plum valley is in the morning, around 8am to 10am. If you arrive too early, thick fog will obscure your vision. Come at noon or in the hot afternoon. In the late afternoon, the sun fades quickly, making it difficult to capture beautiful moments.

Na Ka plum valley is located about 16 km from Moc Chau farm town, easy to move with the road being improved. However, the road is winding, small and narrow, so visitors should use motorbikes and avoid rainy days because it is easy to slip.

Currently, the weather in Moc Chau has become cold, the temperature in the early morning and at night can drop to about 15, 16 degrees Celsius, visitors should bring warm clothes. According to Kien, brightly colored costumes will help visitors stand out more in the white plum garden when taking photos.

A few years ago, Na Ka valley was simply a plum growing area for local people. Grasping tourist tastes, plum garden owners provide additional services such as photography, ethnic clothing rental, tents for camping or plum picking experiences.

It is also the white mustard flower season in Moc Chau. Visitors can combine visiting the white mustard gardens in Na Ka plum valley.
