A photo from Nguyen Ngoc Hoa’s “Snow Tunnel Salt”
The emotional beauty of workers in the salt making of Snow Yan tunnel in Phu Yen helped author Nguyen Ngoc Hoa for the first time to attend the Heritage Photography Award – Heritage Journey 2020 won a special prize in the photo series category.
Photographer Nguyen Ngoc Hoa’s Snow Match Salt Series (Gia Lai) is not the only one to capture this craft village for heritage award – Heritage Journey 2020, there are several series of photos of this craft village participating in the same prize, but his series has won excellently.
With a age of nearly 150 years, Snow Yan tunnel salt (Xuan Binh commune, Song Cau town, Phu Yen province) is a brand known far away by the purity, rich taste.
But to make those salt particles are how many sweats of matches people from the harvest of salt seeds on the spot, transported into the warehouse, poured salt seeds into soil pots, then arranged in the furnace and baked under fire for 12 hours.
The special feature of the production of salt stew here is that most of the production is done manually, making the beauty of labor more emotional.

In addition to nguyen Ngoc Hoa’s special awarded photo series, the Heritage – Heritage Journey 2020 award is also given to 15 other works and works.
In total, there are 2 special prizes, 2 first prizes, 10 top 5 bronze prizes for two photo series and cover photo categories, and 2 top 2 bronze prizes for singles photography.
At the award ceremony along with the opening ceremony of the exhibition of the prized works on the afternoon of September 21 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Mr. Vu Quoc Khanh – president of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, head of the jury of the contest – commented: the artworks are of very good quality, the authors have known how to choose the images , new content with an expressed way that is both journalistily and artistic.
The Heritage – Heritage Journey 2020 exhibition showcases 16 winners and a collection of works, as well as 30 works composed during the photo tour, which runs until September 25.
