Introduction to Cai Bau pagoda
Cai Bau Pagoda is located in Village 1, Ha Long Commune, Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province . The pagoda was built on the foundation of Phuc Linh Tu pagoda – the temple to worship the Tran generals during the Nguyen-Mong invasion war. This place had seen a welcome battle, paving the way for the victory on Bach Dang River in 1288.

How to move to Cai Bau pagoda
Cai Bau Pagoda is about 11km from the center of Cai Rong town (Van Don),about 65kmfrom the city center of Ha Long (Quang Ninh), so we can take a bus to the destination easily.
With a distance from Hanoi to Van Don about 250km, from the center of Hanoi you can take a bus, private car or motorbike.
Transportation by passenger car
There are many bus routes from Hanoi to Van Don at the stations of My Dinh, Yen Nghia or Luong Yen with fares from 120k / 1 way / 1 person.

Route 1: From Hanoi, follow Highway 5 through Hai Duong city, then from Nam Sach town – Hai Duong along Highway 183 to Sao Do town – Chi Linh, Hai Duong and then go to Dong Trieu, Uong Bi, Ha Long, Cam Pha, Cua Ong to Van Don .
Route 2: From Hanoi, follow Highway 5 to Sai Dong junction and then follow road 1 to Bac Ninh city. Follow Road 18 from Bac Ninh to Pha Lai – Chi Linh – Dong Trieu – Uong Bi – Ha Long – Cam Pha, then turn to Cua Ong Temple, then Van Don.

Cai Bau pagoda includes the main hall, bell floor, empty floor, Tam Quan gate. The largest part of the main hall, there is a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha , behind is bronze relief depicting the landscape of the Bodhi tree where the Buddha Shakyamuni has cultivated righteous fruit. Both sides are statues of Van Thu Su Loi and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, representing wisdom and compassion.
