Detailed schedule

Day 1: Ha Giang city – Milestone 0 – Quan Ba twin mountain – lonely tree in Yen Minh – Tham Ma slope – buckwheat flower garden – moon rock beach – Dong Van town.

Day 2: Dong Van – death cliff – Nho Que river – Pa Vi ethnic culture village – Meo Vac.

“If everyone follows the same route as us, take advantage of going fast and early to get there early. My group moved from Lung Cu to Du Gia at 13:45, 18:00, still going downhill and 10 km from the homestay. The road is dark. scared because I can’t see the cliff,” she said.

Day 4: Du Gia – Ha Giang City

On the last day, Phuong Anh’s group did not go to many places, but mainly focused on walking around Du Gia, going to the waterfall to admire the scenery. She said that the road to the waterfall is difficult to move, so park the car at the house on stilts outside and then walk in to be safe.

“I asked the homestay owner to show me the way to Ha Giang city. He said just follow Google Maps to get there. We followed the instructions, without difficulty or lost our way. However, from Du Gia to the city there are about approx. 25 km of very bad roads, many big trucks, everyone needs to be careful,” Phuong Anh shared.

Stay

Day 1: Overnight in Dong Van. Due to the lack of rooms in hotels, the group rented motels. If you come to Ha Giang in the current peak tourist season, guests should book a room in advance to have a satisfactory place to stay. Phuong Anh booked two months in advance but there were no rooms available.

Day 2: Overnight at O’Chau Meo Vac, located in Pa Vi village. “This place has a very beautiful view, the owner is enthusiastic and hospitable,” Phuong Anh said.

Day 3: Du Gia Panorama, nice view but the way to the homestay is difficult to go. Phuong Anh noted that if the driver is weak, be careful. Guests who rent a room should also order dinner here because the way to the place to eat is very far. The price of the food is not cheap, but it is plentiful and delicious, according to the young lady’s assessment.

A few things to note

Phuong Anh advises not to be in a hurry and rush, so just move and rest. “Seeing a beautiful place to stop and take photos. Health is also something everyone needs to pay attention to because the travel distance in Ha Giang is long and very tiring. If you can’t go to all the pre-defined attractions, you can save it for the next time. After that, don’t try. And fill up the gas tank before moving,” she said.

Driver’s license and citizen identification are two types of identification that need to be carried with you throughout the journey, in case the traffic police check. “The trip will be better if the group is accompanied by men. Our group has a few boyfriends, so it feels more secure than all women,” Phuong Anh said.

Ha Giang is in the buckwheat season, so this is the right time to visit.

Do not give money to local children to carry flowers, or stand around tourist attractions. Instead, Phuong Anh’s group gave the children cakes and sweets.

The total cost of the trip is about 3 million VND (120$)per person.
