DAK LAK Located in an idyllic, close to nature campus, Arul is a favorite destination for many city dwellers and tourists.
Arul cafe is located on the main road leading to Akõ Dhong – a village of the E De and M’Nong people in the heart of Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province. From the outside, the shop is not prominent but easily blends into the long houses in the village. However, if you pay a little attention, you will see the gate and signboard of the cafe, bold indigenous people.
The shop consists of 3 long tiled houses, in which there is one garage, the rest 2 long stilt houses in the style of Ede house for coffee space. All 3 are located in a green campus.
In the middle is a long old house, built in the 1980s of the last century. The gable of the house faces the street like most of the houses in the village. From the yard to the front porch by the Tay Nguyen wooden stairs. Before it was a coffee shop, this was the residence.
House architecture is still kept almost original with main wood materials. Front and rear doors, flanked by windows. Coffee tables are low rustic natural wood tables, coffee drinkers sit on the wooden floor.
A kitchen corner full of cooking utensils is located in the old house. In addition to the kitchen corner, the house still preserves and displays many ethnic items of the Central Highlands such as brocade fabric, rattan, jars, ceramic jars …
The back porch is also an airy coffee space with rustic tables and chairs bearing the nature of the Central Highlands and a lush green garden.
Next to the old long house is a newly built longhouse, also made of wood material and tiled roof. In this new house, there are no walls, but four sides open to the garden and nature.
Among the folds of the house is the garden and green trees creating a harmony and closeness to nature.
In the premises of the shop, there are wooden statues of the Tay Nguyen tomb and many sets of raw tables and chairs carved with native text.
