DONG NAI – The pine tree at Ha Phat church, Bien Hoa city is made of 2,340 conical hats, 35 m high, and takes 3 months to complete.

These days, Ha Phat Church (Tan Bien ward) is splendidly decorated for Christmas. The highlight of the campus is a 35 meter tall pine tree, made of 2,340 conical cones.

This is the third year the church has built this unique Christmas tree and is 5 meters taller than last year. The first pine tree is 25 m high. Funding for implementation is supported by parishioners.

The 5-storey pine tree has been turned on since the evening of December 17, illuminating a corner of the church grounds. To implement the conifer pine tree, parishioners took 3 months to conceptualize and construct and complete on December 6.

Mr. Nguyen Van Han, 50 years old, Head of the Church’s Church Board of Education, said: “We see the idea of making a pine tree from conical cones imbued with traditional culture. The parishioners are proud and proud of this tree. “.

The bottom layer of the pine tree is nearly 13 meters long and narrows until the top. The first day the pine cones turned on the lights, many parishioners and tourists came to visit.

To support the conical floors, the church built a pillar with 10 tons of solid concrete, stretched around the cables to hold the trees. “With the same height as the church bell tower, we have to calculate very carefully so that the tree will not be swayed by the wind,” said Mr. Han.

Thousands of conical cones are arranged in regular steps in a row, each with a light attached, glitter and baubles around.

The shimmering cones filled the Christmas atmosphere in every corner of the church.

A lot of visitors have fun, take souvenir photos by the unique pine tree.

On the first day the tree was lit, Mr. Duy Phuong (Ho Nai ward, Bien Hoa city) led his wife and children to visit and take pictures. “My house is a few kilometers away, so every Christmas comes here to play because the church is very beautiful. Everyone is impressed with the tall pine tree with unique design”, Mr. Phuong said.

“This is the second time I have visited the tree, this year the church is taller and bigger than last year. The cones are shimmering in beautiful lights,” Pham Thi Thanh Huong, of Tam Hiep ward, city Bien Hoa said.

Besides the pine tree, many other works such as statues, stone caves, bell towers … are also splendidly decorated with colorful flashing lights. Not only is the place where lay people attend Mass, the church also attracts a lot of visitors every night.

One week before Christmas, the church choir team practiced hard on stage to prepare for the night to welcome the Child. Hymns, songs about Noel continuously resound on the church.

Late at night, many people still flock to Ha Phat to visit. The conical pine tree will light up every night until December 27.
