HO CHI MINH CITY – The hot pot restaurant in Binh Thanh district keeps the price of Thai hot pot and hot pot delivered to inter-districts, with the number of orders up to 350 servings per day.

The islet hotpot restaurant in Ward 13, Binh Thanh District has been a familiar dining address for nearly a year with diners who love Western-style hotpot dishes such as fish hotpot, islet hotpot, Thai hot pot and wrap rolls. Nguyen Diem My, born in 1992, manager of the restaurant, said that before the social distancing period in Ho Chi Minh City, the shop served from 14:00 to 22:00 every day, always in a state of a full table.

“I’m not in the West but I like fish sauce hot pot, some friends say that the hot pot smells bad, but I think the food smells very good. Since Saigon has been social distancing, I’ve been craving these dishes, knowing that the restaurant sells them. Take away, I immediately ordered 3 servings of fish sauce hotpot to eat. The vegetables at the restaurant are very diverse and fresh, there are water lily, bitter vegetables, Centella Asiatica, mint, humpback, water spinach, eggplant… I like to eat hotpot. There are many kinds of vegetables like this,” Nguyen Hoai Viet shared.

And Minh Phuong in the Tan Phu district said that he ordered food to satisfy his craving, although the shipping fee from Binh Thanh is not cheap. “My family has 5 adults, so I order 2 servings of hot pot for the family. The hot pot here is rich and fragrant. I’ve been a regular customer for more than half a year now,” she said.

The price of a hot pot with fish sauce and Thai hot pot remains the same as when sold on the spot, VND 159,000 for a meal of 2-3 people and VND 275,000 for 4-5 people. Particularly, the island hot pot needs about 20 ingredients to cook, so it is difficult for the restaurant to meet the requirements of diners.

However, compared to enjoying on-site, the takeaway hotspot also has a few limitations, although the restaurant always tries to ensure that the hotpot portions keep the delicious flavor and enough ingredients. For example, some vegetables that are easily damaged during transportation and difficult to store, such as squash, will not be available. Green vegetables to eat Thai hot pot are not as diverse as hotpot with fish sauce and if you want to eat a lot of vegetables, you have to order more for 15,000 VND.

In addition, the shipping fee in Ho Chi Minh City is still quite high, sometimes up to 60,000-70,000 VND for one time, so the price is also increased, many diners see the price of the ship even though they crave it, so they have to think again. The shop accepts orders through food ordering applications, so the operating hours are not synchronized, may show closed status, or slow delivery. The shop operates from 9am to 5pm daily and may run out of dishes early.
