About Mieu Noi pagoda
Temple of the Floating Temple or known as Phu Chau Temple is a temple located in the middle of Vam Thuat River in Ward 5, Go Vap District, City. HCM City. This is considered an extremely unique ancient religious architecture in our country. From the beginning, the temple was built almost covering a small dune of 2,500 square meters, floating in the middle of the river, looking very mysterious and impressive.

Not only possessing the unique terrain, but the image of more than 100 dragon sculptures scattered around the place is a special highlight. How to go to Mieu Noi pagoda?
To get to the Temple of Floating Temple you start from the center of Saigon and drive along Nguyen Thai Son Street. When you reached the end of the road, turn to Tran Bao Giao. You go a few hundred meters more to the parking space to get on the boat to cross the temple. Each boat trip will cost 10k. Boat ride time will take about 5 minutes. This is an opportunity for visitors to travel and admire the peaceful scenery in the middle of Saigon.

History of the Temple of the Floating Temple on the Saigon River
Temple of the Floating Temple on the Saigon River was built during the reign of King Gia Long, 3 centuries ago. On one side of the shrine, there is a wharf, the opposite side is An Phu Dong, District 12. The birth of the shrine is closely related to the legend of a fisherman.
Another name of Floating Temple is Phu Chau Mieu
Legend has it that there was a fisherman who was fishing in this river section when he picked up a woman’s body. When he pulled up, he was buried in the island and then built a temple to worship his soul. The life of this fisherman has also become better since then.

After the temple was established, people came here to pray a lot. Gradually, they wanted this temple to become more spacious to worship Long Mau and Ngu Hanh. Before 1975, Lang Mieu Pagoda was a highlight of the pilgrimage of indigenous people in Saigon. However, it was abandoned for a while. By 1989, a Chinese man named Luc Cau took out his own money to restore the temple.

The unique architecture of the Temple of the Floating Temple
Phu Chau Mieu was built with the architecture mixed between Chinese and Vietnamese culture. There are many porcelain dragon shapes placed all over the shrine. The inside of the pagoda is divided into 2 compartments: worshiping the five mothers and the main hall at the back, outside the courtyard will worship bodhisattvas.
