For nearly 10 years now, it seems to have become a habit, every morning Duong Tien Sinh (23 years old, in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi) goes to the vacant lot near his house to train birds of prey.
Besides Sinh, there were also about 4-5 people participating in training and demonstration of the art of taming birds of prey at this land.
Every morning Sinh and everyone else spends 1-2 hours, both letting the birds practice flying and hunting outdoors, while taking advantage of exercise.
Sinh’s group trains birds of prey in the morning at an open field in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.
“My group has more than 10 brothers who are playing bird of prey art. The birds the group is currently using are falcons, falcons, eagles.
Previously, accidentally watching on a TV program was interested and excited when watching birds of prey, so I learned about birds and it took me nearly a year to buy the first bird.
In Vietnam, this subject has not yet developed, so it is very difficult to find and buy birds. There are few vacant lots in the capital, so it is difficult to play birds.
That’s why the members of the group have to go far to the suburbs to train birds…”, Sinh shared.
To serve bird training, team members use modern equipment such as Flycam, GPS navigation.
Currently, Sinh’s bird of prey eats an average of 8,000 VND/day.
A bird costs about 800,000 VND – 2,000,000 VND. However, the GPS locator mounted on the bird is up to 20,000,000 VND.

“To conquer fierce birds such as falcons, eagles, falcons, birders take at least 3-6 months to get used to.
In the future, the bird and the trainer will be like friends, and the bird will listen to the person’s commands. When they reach a high level, they can release birds to fly in the sky and know how to listen to the signal to turn back, or attack their prey at the command of the master…”, Sinh said.
The art of training birds of prey originated in the Middle East and was introduced to Vietnam about 10 years ago.

Not only that, birds of prey are used to flying, if kept in cages for too long, they will soon fall ill.
Duong Tien Sinh shared that falcons are high-speed predators, when they rush to their target (prey) they can reach speeds of 60km/h.
To coordinate birds of prey, bird trainers mainly use food to lure. Every day, the player will have to balance the amount of food divided by the ratio of 1/10 of the weight of the bird.
