The story is not about two houses associated with Uncle Ho's childhood years in Hue

The first relic is the house number 112 Mai Thuc Loan Street, Thuan Loc Ward, Hue City, which is very special with its historical and cultural values. This is not only a relic of Uncle Ho’s memorial house but also the house that President Ho Chi Minh lived when he joined his family in Hue for the first time from 1895 to 1901.

In 1894, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac (born President of Ho Chi Minh) passed his Bachelor of Science at Huong Nghe An Exam School. In 1895, he entered Hue for the contest but failed to pass. To prepare for the next exam, he applied to study Quoc Tu Giam – Hue and was accepted. However, the scholarships of the school were very few, not enough for him to live in the capital, so he returned to his hometown to discuss with his family to bring his wife and children together to Hue so that the family could help him study. also has time to take care of and raise the children. Coming to Hue to introduce him to an acquaintance, he was able to rent a small house on Dong Ba street (the present relic house).

This is a three-room wooden house with traditional Hue-style roofing with tile roof, wall surrounded by muddy brick, the front is a system of “upstream, downstream” scientific doors. with the main house is the kitchen, covered with soil. The house is located in a complete house – yard – garden master complex.

The house has kept many childhood memories of President Ho Chi Minh, witnessed the years of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac’s hard work in book lamps, the hard work of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, the kindness and courage of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, witnesses the growth and maturity of the two brothers Khiem, Cung (President Ho Chi Minh). In particular, this house is where Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan gave birth to her fourth child, Nguyen Sinh Xin, and is also the place where she breathed her last at the age of 33 on December 22, the year of the Canh Ty (ie February 10 / 1901).

The second relic is the memorial house of Uncle Ho in Duong No village, Phu Duong commune, Phu Vang district. This is the house President Ho Chi Minh lived from 1898 to 1900, when he followed his father here to teach, in Duong No village, Phu Duong commune, Phu Vang district – where Uncle Ho learned the first Chinese characters. First born – Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac taught.

In 1898, after the second contest contest failed, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac (born President of Ho Chi Minh) was invited to teach by Mr. Nguyen Si Do (in Duong No village). The two brothers Khiem and Cung followed his father here partly to ease the economic burden of the family, partly to allow Mr. Sac to have the conditions to teach his two children.

The furniture in the house is simple, in the middle there is a wooden countertops for Mr. Sac to teach, two other sets of trellis are placed on both sides for students to sit. , is where Nguyen Sinh Khiem and Nguyen Sinh Cung often lie.

Ancient signs where Uncle Ho used to study in his father’s literacy class. At the Chinese character class in this house, Uncle Ho learned the first Chinese characters, laying the foundation for his study of Chinese studies.

The two left two heads are the living place and storing food for the father and son. Connected to the main house is the three-room house, thatched roof, plastered walls, used as the family’s kitchen.

The souvenir house in Duong No village was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national-level historical and cultural relic according to Decision No. 296 / VH-QD dated March 26, 1990. Three years later, the Uncle Ho memorial house on Mai Thuc Loan Street was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national historical monument according to Decision No. 74 / VH-QD dated February 2, 1993.
